What I worry about is a "natural" disastor and the authorities telling the refugees to take only a three day supply of food and clothing. Water will be provided along the way. You will be able to contact your families when we arrive. Leave all valuables behind. They will be here when you return after the emergency.

This is a same speech given to the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto when they were going to be transported to the camps. I wonder if people in New Orleans and New Jersey heard something simliar.
