Weinergate: Did he or didn't he?

I have no opinion... Yet.

Awaiting the results of the FBI investigation that will surely come. As we learned a few years ago during the Sarah Palin email hacker incident, hacking someone's online account is a Federal offense. Punishable with a $250,000 fine and 50 years in the pen. Pretty serious stuff.

Any sane person should know that until there is an arrest and conviction made that their political career is pretty much in the dumper. Kind of like John Edwards'.

If I were Weiner I'd be pushing pretty hard for an answer as to who was responsible for the act.

I find the political threads quite informative and interesting right up to the time that they degenerate into these little shouting matches. I have asked nicely (wouldn't want to warn or point anyone needlessly now would we) for everyone to stay on topic. Heaven forbid that we close one of these threads because it gets a little heated, so I am going to ask nicely for the last time let's stay on topic and stop taking shots at one another. Some of the viewpoints expressed here are truly interesting to some no matter what your political leanings happen to be, but I would expect that most (other than the normal combattants) probably tune out when the BS starts flying.

No whining when sanctions start!!!

I agree with you Space. Personal attacks, hate comments, insults and other acts of uncivil nature have no place in a debate or adult discussion. I like to think of a political debate as fisticuffs with facts. Apparently so do most of the participants in these threads.

Hard to lump Weinergate with Edwards' indictment. One is a disputed hacking of an internet account. The other is an indictment on six counts of illegal behavior: One count was for conspiracy, four related illegal payments and one involved false statements. If found guilty, Edwards faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and $1.5 million in fines.

Weiner, even if he DID send that picture of his wang to the girl in Seattle, committed no crime and has violated no law.

Don't see the connection, except that they're Democrats and there are women involved.
