Let's make this very clear.

This election was a sea change in that minorities and the youth turned out and swamped the suburban white voters.

But it didn't have to be that way.

If Romney had run a negative dirty campaign like Atwater ran for Bush Sr. in 1988 Romney would have won in a landslide.

Obama's negatives were colossal, and all Romney had to do was link the present dire state of the nation to Obama's criminal history in Chicago, his criminal acts as President like FAST and FURIOUS.....

AND ROMNEY WOULD HAVE WON IN A LANDSLIDE

AustinE.....IMO you are correct to say that Romney should have played hardball................this was a very winnable election for the GOP....but Romney was getting very bad advice not go negative........his consultants were telling him Obama's likeables were too high and Romney should avoid attack.............bad advice....worse outcome for our country.

If every there was a president who could be savaged for his policies and failures it was Obama.....Romney didn't do it and he lost.
