No it is correct. Who negotiated for the pensions in the first place. Who pressured Congress to force the USPS to fully fund the pensions. Me thinks the union.
Unions have far outlived their usefulness.

What does Payless shoes and the USPs have in common.......Thousands of loafers.

I love how libtards like BigLouise like to call conservatives "Flat Earthers" and fail to see the implications of the Flat Earth.

Is that the union press release to force Walmart to unionize? I thought the Walmart employees voted to tell the union to take a hike. Is Sam's a union shop? Tell your line of bs to the Chicago school district.

Unions have had a useful purpose, but the states and feds have laws to regulate conditions in the work place and wages....if one can get a job!

A 2006 law requiring the postal service to pay an average of $5.5 billion annually for 10 years to finance retiree health costs for the next 75 years was the idea of Congress so they could apply that amount to the federal budget although it was not true income.

So congress wanted to make them fund the healthcare through however long and this benefit was negotiated by congress with the USPS and had nothing to do with the union?

Other than this statement not making much factual sense ...

"so they could apply that amount to the federal budget although it was not true income" ...

given the realities of the post office it seems appropriate that the post office take care of its own retirees and get them off the government tit. Your man Obaminable has already announced that the Post Office is a good working example of how Obamacare would be operated .... are you suggesting that was bullshit?

Unfortunately weekly I must go to the post office to process mail and too many times I have seen 15 to 20 CUSTOMERS in line waiting for their turn in front of 2 agents, a 3rd one comes out, then one of the other two close their station and take a "mandatory" break ... while the CUSTOMERS are still waiting!

Mentality: (test screening issue) Had an agent complain to me that I pre-posted my mail and then asked them to scan it for verification, BECAUSE the Post Office wasn't getting the POSTAGE!!!!

Electronic mailing (progress) hurts the post office, but the post office hurts itself. Constantly reducing services to cut costs.

Corporations won, unions lost. For better or for worse, we're going to be stuck with that for the forseeable future.
