Yes. I was aggravated. And it was a favor and it was in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. I was hot and waiting in the car for her. So I honked. Again, I thought perhaps the rules of etiquette had changed some, hence the question.

Elizabeth, some people do think that honking is rude. As others have mentioned in this post. I honk my horn all the time when I pick up my mother. I don't think she realizes I'm there, so I wait a minute with the car on. She doesn't come out so I honk to let her know I'm there. There is nothing rude about honking the horn -to let someone know you've arrived. The horn was put in the car for a reason. To get someones attention. If someone was nice enough to drive me to the airport (saving me ballpark $50-$75) I wouldn't be complaining about a horn.
To answer your question, my ex gf used to tell me I looked like professor Lupin. We are all potter fans, you know "pot heads" get it?
