The only thing that kept me from buying was the noise from the tires going down the thruway. Under 50 miles an hour its as quite as a mouse though.
I test drove the Model-3 last year. I didn't notice the tire noise. I know that each trim levels has different tires and rims, so maybe not all trims are affected. It's also possible that I just didn't notice it. I only drove it for 20 minutes. The acceleration on both the 3 and Y is insane. It made me smile every time I floored it.
I'm not a fan of the single screen setup. I prefer having some info like mph and power gauge under the steering wheel like on model X and S. The Ford Mach-E has the best screen setup I've seen yet. The main touch screen also has a scroll wheel. Much better for adjusting volume or anything with incremental settings.

Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh area is $2.72-$2.75! Wolf has the gas tax high. West Virginia was $2.35 the last time I filled up there. Ohio was $2.22 when I topped off the other day. The speculators are not wasting time.

Waiting for some Saturday morning when we wake up, gas is $4.00 gallon, oops, we have a shortage, even though the pipeline is not done !

Pros and cons for both vehicles, but the Tesla looks so vanilla.
Ford Mustang EV looks sharp. GM will be offering ~20 EVs in a couple years.
Gas & diesel guzzling Internal Combustion engines are going the way of the 'horse & buggy'.

Nio EV impressed me and makes Tesla look very vanilla and dated. Nio costs almost half that of Tesla and offers far more options standard Tesla doesn't have yet. Only ~6000 Nio EVs in the US so far all in California.

Drove the Chevy Bolt and was impressed. Bolt Vehicle insurance was normal. Was told Tesla insurance was far far higher due to Tesla being ranked as a super luxury vehicle.

With so many reviews, and so much extra cash to spend on ECCIE playtime, why on earth are you so bothered by a few extra Mario Coins for fuel ?

The Nio looks pretty sweet. I would be concerned about availability and wait time for parts. Especially in NY with our restrictive laws. If Nio doesn't partner up and sell through a dealership, cars will have to be shipped direct like Tesla. Tesla has a service center here, but I hear it still takes a long time to get parts.
The Mach-E qualifies for the $7500 EV tax credit. I think it's going to sell really well, so that $7500 may not be available for long. I'm ready to buy now,. but waiting for a local dealership to get one so I can go for a test drive. I've been avoiding calling it Mustang,. lol. . It's a stylish and. sporty compact EV SUV, but Ford shouldn't have labeled it a Mustang imo. I predict Ford will eventually drop Mustang from the name and just call it Mach-E because they've pissed off some of the gear-heads and Mustang purists.

As a vintage Mustang owner I agree. Using the Mustang name won't get them sales from our hardcore group

Vintage? Ooh! Like a Mustang II? Or.....ugly-ass Fox body? Or shitty 60's tech with leaf springs and drum brakes?

Nostalgia fer this ride is a joke, no matter which model. There were times when it looked half-way decent. Heck, some even went pretty fast for their time (though only in a straight line). But it was still nuthin more than lipstick on a pig.

The "Fox" boyz really crack me up, especially. I've known several fans of that POS. One even keeps it covered in his garage and only takes it out on "special ocassions" (like maybe to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert). It has gotta be one of the ugliest designs in automotive history. If a car coulda had a mullet....that woulda been it.

(whew...ol roo done it now..no doubt he's pissin off every old white man on the board....more than he did with summa that liberal-ass shit he posted....points and hate mail prolly gonna be flyin)

This will be the last chance BIG OIL has to use their fake BS reasons such as that to HOSE the public.

With the move to EVs gasoline will soon be worthless.

Gasoline is becoming worthless

Quote:
New research from Morgan Stanley argues that traditional internal combustion engines—the mainstay of automobiles for more than a century—are destined to become money-losers as early as 2030. “We believe the market may be ascribing zero (or even negative?) value for ICE-derived revenues at GM and Ford,” auto analyst Adam Jonas wrote in a Jan. 29 analysis. He lists a variety of factors likely to “transform what were once profit-generating assets into potentially loss-making and cash-burning businesses.”

In late January, General Motors (GM) said it plans to stop selling vehicles with tailpipe emissions by 2035. That means GM won’t sell any gas- or diesel-powered vehicles, the types of cars that now account for nearly all GM sales and profit. That would require an all-electric fleet, powered off the electrical grid, as with most current electrics, or perhaps through on-board fuel cells powered by hydrogen. While most automakers are developing electric vehicles, GM is the first big one to commit to a full transition.
That said my next vehicle will be EV.
Those Arabs, Texans, et al, can go drink their oil.

I'm surprised that the hydrogen powered vehicles aren't more popular. They require less natural resources to build and they're much lighter. Fueling up at a lithium station is a faster and more familiar than the slower process of plugging in and waiting at an EV charging station. California is already seeing long lines and wait times at EV charging stations. Tesla is revisiting the idea of modular battery swapping, but it's labor intensive and expensive. Hydrogen fuel seems to eliminate all of that. I hope it doesn't become the Betamax of EV's.
