It is absolutely true, don't judge a book by its cover. I think there is something special
in every book. You have to take the next step in finding out by turning the page!

Very true Dannie, I like to make a connection with the providers I see. I know I havent with all as we dont with all of the people that we meet. The ones I have however it has been a blast getting to know them personally, talk and kid around, and enjoy each others company on a level other than just sex. I believe that it really hightens the entire experience. I also think we need to meet soon. I love your posts, lol

The Encyclopedia- insightful, well-read, very rounded.
The Comic Book- fun to be around, is light-hearted about life.
The Romance Novel- full of passion, hopeless romantic.
The Leisure Book- enjoys relaxation and not stressing about life.
The Book of Adventures- always experiencing new adventures.
The Porn Magazine- very sexual and basically only fulfills that need. lol
The Library- a combination of various books....fun, insightful, romantic, sexual and pleasant to be around.

Being a giver… allows me to be open to all story lines as long as no one is being hurt… As long as all are able to read between each line and know that our endings are always happy..
i'd say i'm a Comic Book/Leisure Book with a few chapters of Romance Novel and Porn Magazine tossed in.

i'll also say that if the books are in braille, then i'll read 'em with my fingers!!

At some point we are guilty of judging a book much too quickly and incorrectly. Many times that is due to past experiences with books that seemed to start well, but were full of drama and had a rough ending. Books like that can ruin it for all of the new and inspiring masterpieces on the shelf along side them. Most well written and enlightening books are much more patient than the average book and don't give up on the reader who has overlooked them at first glance.

It is nice to pick a book back up and realize there is much more to it than one first assumed. Books like that set the bar for all the others that may try to be noticed as a masterpiece and give the reader a higher level of expectations in the future.

Thanks for the post Thatdude. Great topic.

Maria,

Very true. Showcases are kinda like a book cover. They only tell so much. Having a date is like opening a book, tells you so much more.

I'd like to add a couple of categories:

The Coloring Book - you get to choose the colors and participate in the outcome, but you need to try to say inside the lines...

The Journal - you get to write your own story with or without anyone else's participation. Just try to make it memorable for you, and feel free to plagiarize.

A book analogy, really!
Often fall asleep and slobber on the binder
Been known to rip off that pesky cover
Dog ear the pages
Put it down as soon as I get bored
Find most long on words, short on substance
Disgusted by traces of the last reader
Start way more than I finish

Default Ahhhh YES!

I just love reading a REALLY GOOD book in braille.......top to bottom almost always and when in the mood for something more, switch from front to back.

Older books seem to always deliver exactly what you remembered from the first time you read them or something someone told you about them and you get surprised sometimes reading the newest books out there. But the new ones often have those brand new shinny covers or something that peaks your interest.

First ... I love this Thread! And it certainly shows the depth of our friends, and oddly enough, is quite erotic in and of itself. And for those know me, I'd be The Library ... I know I have had some wild posts and Threads, and seem way out there some times, but in the end ... I'm a read from every corner of the Library, if you take the time to open the cover ... I've always been an open book, even here.

I have read books that I thought would be fantastic, but weren't ... and I have read a few that I was most hesitant about reading, but found them to be so very enjoyable that I have kept them close, and have gone back to them when the mood calls ... they elicited emotions and feelings from me that I thought were gone forever ... they were flirty reads ... sexy reads ... educated, funny, sweet and sincere ... they have been so enjoyably sarcastic and just fun to read that I am caught thinking about them more often than I should (knucklehead) ... and I like just about any book (or magazine), just depends on my mood.

To close ... some times we run in to the problem in that some of the books we really want to read are relatively expensive, and as with other things in life, we just can't convince ourselves to spend the money on the book because we don't know what to expect, and what enjoyment will come from book ... of course, a chance not taken is an opportunity lost ... so, we join Book Club's ... and every now and then the Book Club has a get together so we can talk about our favorite books, and even speak to the writers of other books, possibly opening up opportunities for other reads, and pleasures.

Happy Reading, and the very best to all of you this holiday season!
