Wow !!
Screw the media, justice prevails..Nancy Grace can go fuck herself now as well as all those in the media who weren't even fair enough to give defense the time, she is such as bitch, can't wait to hear her cry and whine tonight
No murder weapon proved, no cause of death; I hope this Baez goes on to become a hero and shove it down everyone's throat. Just about every media outlet raked him over the coals; for no reason at all..

Thanks to our forebearers for having fought and struggled to give us the jury system that we still have so that justice can sometimes be done.
If it were up to the self-serving prosecutors and pundits we'd all be in concentrations camps at the will of a hysterical mob.
Now all we have to do is bring the rest of our criminal justice system back into line with what it used to be, such as.....
Did you know that until recently it was illegal for anyone arrested by a peace officer to be imprisoned into a jail without FIRST having a hearing before a judge [a magistrate] who ALONE had the power to put anyone in jail. That at that hearing the prisoner is allowed to plead his case right then and there to the judge as to why he should not be placed in jail? Whatever happened to that????
Think on that the next time a friend is thrown into jail because a policemen accuses him [falsely] of drunk driving or fighting with his spouse or anything else that gets people thrown into county jail before any judge has put them there. Today the police on the streets are the judges themselves...and they know it.*
We just need to get back to the principles of a civil society and rule of law. A kinder, gentler society begins on the streets and courthouses with public servants who fear the public instead of the other way around.
*The reason why this illegality goes unchallenged is because the lawyers who should be fighting it, the criminal defense bar, would lose most of their new clients if it were reformed. Having the police continually throwing people into jail who don't belong there is what provides criminal attornies with their living.

I think we've found something we can all agree on. Does anyone here not hate Nancy Grace?

Wow...i now truly understand why i do not live in Austin. There was enough evidence, albeit circumstantial to convict of her aggravated manslaughter. Let us not forget that Scott Peterson was convicted on circumstantial evidence. Not reporting a child missing and telling people she was with an imaginary nanny for 31 days is enough for me to know that she was involved enough to have contributed to the death of that poor little girl.

More than likely they could have got her on lesser charges like you mentioned but they went for the 99 yard TD bomb and couldn't even get a yard..not even a penalty..Murder 1 on a white female with no eyewitness, no cause of death.
It should be a lesson to DA's nationwide, toss the ball from deep in the end zone on your own one yard line, don't get upset when the pick 6 burns you... ( not you literally)
Nothing but the smell of a fart in a can and tape , a car etc. that others had access to. Party for 31 days isn't hard evidence, only ' evidence' to hate the defendant which is not a determinant of guilt.
As to Scott Peterson, different case, different jury, different prosecutors..
I too agree she was involved and manslaughter would have gotten them a conviction, but was it an accident or a murder, the more I think about George the more I smell a rat...
And someone last night on TV had a classic line for the defense of Roger Clemons, ' Blame it on George Anthony'

They were given the option of aggravated manslaughter. It was in the instructions...i even went so far as to read florida's laws on conviction of that and they had to prove 2 things..1. the child is dead and 2. the death was caused by her or her culpable negligence...the fact that she didnt report her missing for 31 days is plenty for culpable negligence. I dont agree that she should have gotten murder 1, but case for aggravated manslaughter was more than presented. you dont need physical evidence to prove negligence...she did nothing...thats negligent in my book.

But the negligence to report a death does not necessarily mean negligence in causing the death. It may just mean she's a raging selfish shithead, and if that's a capital offense then a fair number the membership here, male and female, should be keeping criminal attorneys on retainer, 24/7, 365; 366 in a leap year. And the DA could not establish or definitively present a cause of death so, apparently, the sequestered jury (as per an alternate that saw the evidence along with the jury in the court room but did not participate in deliberations) felt without a known cause it could not definitively determine how, or even if, Casey Anthony may have contributed to the cause of death.
Perhaps the prosecution could have also added other charges, like injury to a child or parental neglect, but they didn't. They asked for child abuse, but with only skeletal remains there was no physical evidence of abuse like healed or unhealed fractures, and no pictures or testimony or any other evidence that Kaylee had unexplained burns or bruises or welts or exhibited fear of her mother.
I think that the vigor in pursuing capital charges against Casey Anthony stemmed from LE and the DA's office taking it personally and getting angry at her over her lies to them and deciding that they were going to do their damnedest to fuck her hard and make her pay for fucking with them and wasting their time and energy and money on pointless searches, even if all they had was circumstantial evidence. In the end, they basically gambled a shitload of taxpayer dollars on a capital case that they pursued as a private mini-vendetta against a very unlikeable defendant. They rolled the dice (with a jury bussed in from out of town that wasn't as emotionally tied to the case pre-trial) and they crapped out when the jury didn't eat everything they presented right out of their hand.
If the jury got to watch all the news coverage and pundits and speculation that the rest of the non-sequestered world did, they might have felt differently, but that's why juries are sequestered, to avoid precisely that sort of outside influence and leave the process just to the prosecution's and defense's evidence and arguments. If you feel that strongly that you know what legally constitutes negligence and culpable negligence, feel free to go to law school, pass the bar and get a job somewhere as a prosecutor. You certainly seem passionate enough about criminal law to do a diligent job if given the opportunity.

Well said Carl...especially about the avoidance of the media and juries being kept in hotels with nothing but movies selected for them and approved programming to watch....
Had the jury not been sequestered they would have found her guilty, lead by Bitch Nancy Grace the entire media sent her to Florida's death row before Baez even was hired...Gross media irresponsibility, even my beloved FOX was not fair and balanced, O'Reilly was a prick..
only Geraldo told it like it was from day one and was proven correct

Exactly! Austin was a such a huge part of this story that I can't believe it took until now for someone to bring it up. WTF? 3 or 4 people on a shmb don't see a non-local trial the way you saw it and you want to blame the entire city?
