I have a prediction that two characters from the prequel are going to make an appearance in the next episodes.

you mean Varro... yeah I was sad when they killed him off; he was hot and unlike the other characters he was not made a slave, he sold himself into slavery to support his family. I hated the episode he died in. I didn't realize how attached to him I had become until they killed him off.

Varro
Gannicus.. yeah I guess you could consider him a blond. But he's not the one who had sex with the Persian chick

The show does a good job of using historical figures during the third servile war. Four of the main slave leaders were Sparticus, Crixus, Gannicus and Oenomaus. I'd bet money Gannicus will be in the final season. Is Starz related to HBO? The third servile war directly flows into the events in the Rome series. These shows show a lot of sex but too much penis for my taste.

if they made a show about Adonis he could be that too
Lucretia (Lucy Lawless) was not yet dead so I think that's going to be another spin on the story... a survivor perhaps?

How could I have forgotten that handsome man, Varro, from the first season?! I got so wrapped up in the second season of hot guys! I would definitely kick the Gannicus character out of bed!

I can't say that I follow the show, but whenever I am channel surfing and I catch it, I am forced to stop and watch. So I have a general idea of who and what is happening, but only vague. It's a quite interesting premise and I suppose a somewhat realistic look into the class system which existed in Ancient Rome.
The cussing bugs me only a little. The slow motion blood shots are the ones I can do without. Watching blood spurt from a wounded gladiator onto a spectator just seems like overkill to me.
I was talking to someone about this show the other day and they told me Showtime has really toned it down so that it could make it onto the air. Wow, must have really been GRAPHIC to receive that admonition.
If I am getting it correctly, did the season end with the massacre at the gladiator's home, so Spartacus escaped? Do I have that correct? Thanks.

Yes, that's how the first season ended. Whoever told you Showtime toned it down is likely an idiot as it's on Starz. Watched first season via netflix and was hooked by the time they fought Thraxus in the arena. I myself love the completely gratuitous violence, swearing and sex. But then whenever I'm watching a TV show and I see the TV-MA warning and see L S V I yell out Jackpot! like it's 3 cherries on a slot machine.

Yes for the orgies... but about 1/2 the guests in the house end up dead so you take your chances LOL.
Great series btw... can't wait till 2012 for the next installments.

If I were them I would be nervous whenever things start to look up for you in that house.. that's when you know you're about to be up for slaughter.

Spartacus lead a slave revolt against the noble slave owning caste, like the one that Haitian Toussaint Louverture modeled after Spartacus, killing men, women, and child; that is how he and the other slaves escaped captivity.
