"Overall we rate WND Questionable based on extreme right wing bias, promotion of conspiracy theories and numerous failed fact checks."
Really nice. Whether you are Catholic or any other religion, the potential loss of a historic cathedral as well as some priceless things inside it should mean something. I have heard some people were trying to get some things out but they likely won't be able to save everything.
I've been there several times. What a shame. You are correct in that people formed a human chain trying to get as much out as possible. More than $600 million has already been donated to rebuild the church.

Who gives a flying fuck?! It's still figures and is sad...
The famous Notre Dame cathedral in Paris is on fire, with one worker claiming that the blaze was deliberately set. The roof of the historic building has completely collapsed. “The cause is not yet clear, but officials say it could be linked to renovation work,” reports the BBC.
However, TIME columnist Christopher J. Hale tweeted, “A Jesuit friend in Paris who works in #NotreDame told me cathedral staff said the fire was intentionally set.”
“A JESUIT FRIEND IN PARIS WHO WORKS IN NOTRE DAME TOLD ME CATHEDRAL STAFF SAID THE FIRE WAS INTENTIONALLY SET. “
Hale deleted the tweet within minutes after it attracted attention. The Saint Sulpice church in Paris was deliberately set on fire earlier this year, although media reports downplayed the story. As we reported earlier, anti-Christian attacks in France are on the rise while attacks against Jewish symbols have also risen by 74 per cent. According to a group that studies hate crime attacks against Christians, February was the worst month for attacks on Christian churches since they began collecting data. According to Ellen Fantini, anti-Christian attacks are being minimized despite representing the largest share of hate crimes.
also mentions that there have been attacks on french churches recently in addition to anti-semtic attacks.
so this thing with Notre Dame is likely arson using the renovation as cover. the alarm went off 23 minutes before the fire was detected. looks like the fire started some where in the roof.
There are lies and then there are truths that you just don't want to believe.
I'm not surprised you don't know the difference.
One thing I've learned from participating on this forum and others -- it all depends on which side of the fence one stands as to what sources of information one will believe.

I doubt much has been donated. It's been pledged.
The Catholic church can rebuild the cathedral with pocket change.
