So there's an idea that we may have been inadvertantly evolving super diseases that are extremely resistant to conventional medicines. Essentially, as we know, drugs are never 100% effective. When a drug is used, the bacteria/viruses that survive are ones that are resistant to that particular drug and then can pass on their resistance, thus rendering the drug less effective in the future.

If you Google "drug resistance evolution", there's a bunch of stuff written out there on it.

There's pretty much a race going on with diseases evolving vs how fast the drug manufacturers can keep creating effective drugs - a pretty nasty problem to crack.

Not outrage in the least. More like the the head shaking frustration of watching little kids be stupid on the playground.

As far as the selective part, I concede that you are the master of selectivity, not I. And you have about 8x the posts to prove it.

COG also has a nicer car than you, Old-Turd. Now you can go to your room and continue your 'boohooing' with even greater envy.

Unlike you, I do not measure my self worth based upon what kind of car I drive.

By the way, since you seem to have a very difficult time not shoving both feet in your mouth making factuall claims about me, let's try this simple game again. It's called "Is IB a liar?" Here's how it goes:

--You said that COG drives a nicer car than I do.

--I say you are a liar, that you have completely made up that statement with zero knowledge about what I drive. Prove me wrong and I'll sincerely, humbly appologize.

--So now it's your turn: What make & model & year does COG drive? What make & model & year do I drive?

Time's ticking!!!

(Me thinks you been caught with your pants down again, called out on your rash, false statement. PROVE ME WRONG!!!!)

The make and model of the car is irrelevant. Any car I'm in is always the nicest on the road. I have that same effect on people, as well. So IB is absolutely right.

I was listening to a forensic pathologist historian talking on the radio last month. He was speakinga about the epidemiology of HIV. They reviewed medical records from a century ago and they found cases of diseases in the Belgian Congo that closely resembled HIV. Without treatment and no roads in or out of the interior the patients died where they lived. This contained the disease to small areas. It slowly spread down the river as it was used for traffic. HIV escaped after the Congo become independent in the 1960s. French speaking doctors were needed and many came from Haiti. That is where HIV next appeared. Anyway I thought it was fairly informative and fascinating.
He went on to say that the next pandemic was not a matter of "if", but a matter of "when". Diseases that are treatable get little traction. Diseases that are quickly fatal have short half lives. Diseases like HIV that have long life spans and can spread before the symptons appear will be the next pandemic. Imagine the Spanish Flu that took a couple of weeks before the symptons appeared. The Spanish Flu, without aircraft, infected half a billion people killing anywhere from 30 to 40 million people. People traveled by train, horse, and boat in those days. It is just a matter of time but then, some people here like to call that being a Chicken Little.

Actually it's not a lie unless the person speaking or writing knows that the statement is false. If IB knows that you drive a 2013 Bugatti Veyron and knows that COG drives a 1972 AMC Gremlin, then it would be a lie. If he has no knowledge of what car is driven by either of you, he's simply making a statement that is unsupported, but which may well be true.

No, I completely disagree. He is asserting that he KNOWS about both cars, when he knows nothing about mine--and I am guessing, nothing about COGs. IB likes to assert he knows a lot of things about me, but he does not. THAT is what he is lieing about.
