Like the Texas abortion law that was allowed to stand for now.

I would point out that in Texas, property owners may defend themselves, and their property, from trespassers wirth deadly force if necessary.

State aqnd local authorities may assist at the request of the property owner.

Texas is now re-enforcing existing physical barriers , and building new ones, along the border . . . . with the enthusiastic pe3rmission of private land owners.

referring to another poster as 'Stupid' - is inappropriate and Rude.

Not that those reality descriptions bother self-described 'trolls'.

Shameful!

I must disclose that my lineage has been on this hemisphere since the "discovery" of the west. So our perspectives do not coalesce. Think of the other Ellis Island.

Actually, our respective family heritages do codeless in terms of centuries of oppression and even genocide. My people, on my father's side, were Eastern European Jews. Half his extended family did not survive the Holocaust. The grandmother in question did (somehow) survive a concentration camp and the following Communist occupation.

So my guess is that there is a good bit of commonality of experience between my extended family history and yours.

The point of that "full disclosure" statement is that my people enterted the country legally, with papers and became citizens within the way normal for their era.

I have no problem with private land owners building walls on their own land.

I do have a problem with the government seizing private land to build a wall or private land owners requesting public money for a wall to be built on their land.

Check out Ft. Worth Texas. 115 people arrested for alleged "human trafficking". A felony charge.

My understanding was that the landowners welcome state assistance in building the barriers.

I don't think Texas is using eminent domain to tke control of the land. The land remains the property of the owner. They ask for permission and the land owners most often agree.
