State aqnd local authorities may assist at the request of the property owner.

Actually, our respective family heritages do codeless in terms of centuries of oppression and even genocide. My people, on my father's side, were Eastern European Jews. Half his extended family did not survive the Holocaust. The grandmother in question did (somehow) survive a concentration camp and the following Communist occupation.

So my guess is that there is a good bit of commonality of experience between my extended family history and yours.

I have no problem with private land owners building walls on their own land.

I do have a problem with the government seizing private land to build a wall or private land owners requesting public money for a wall to be built on their land.

My understanding was that the landowners welcome state assistance in building the barriers.

I don't think Texas is using eminent domain to tke control of the land. The land remains the property of the owner. They ask for permission and the land owners most often agree.
