FLOTUS has nothing to do with this thread; you been binge drinking again?

I thought you learned your lesson last time you went on a bender.

That is Mayor Rawlings in the picture; NOT FLOTUS.

You dumbshit...

Ask the people of Hurricane Sandy. They're still waiting for their checks.

Has anyone here actually read the report? Somehow I get the feeling that I am the only one. Feel free to read the report linked to below, and point out where federal takeover is mentioned or implied. Of course, for the tinfoil hat brigade that will probably be easy since they are often unable to comprehend factual information that conflicts with their pre-conceived ideas.

They're crazy. All they need are a few factual tidbits and then they sew the rest of it together with tinfoil and bullshit.

Its not going to look like that. Its not going be something where every local law enforcement agency in the country suddenly finds itself disbanded and replaced by a federal law enforcement agency.

Liberals are more crafty and manipulative than that.

It will take the form of grants and initiatives. Feds say "Hey, we'll give you $1.2 million for a pilot program to do this or that"

Fill in the blank with whatever you please - body cams, cooperation between vice and FBI field offices to combat so-called "sex trafficking, you name it.

And the more money the feds pour into local LE, who are often budget strapped, the more shots they call. Its how the drinking age was raised in this country. Its how the federal gov't shapes policy on a broad spectrum of issues at local levels.

Attach a purse string, tell the local yokels what to do, and once they've poured in enough money, the local yokels find themselves too dependent on the Federal tit to say no to whatever the feds demand for the next installment of fun money.

If the federal gov't is pulling the strings of your local law enforcement agency, (and they already do), is that really any different from a federal police agency? Not really, and if you haven't noticed, that IS the road we are headed down.

This stupid "Bitch" needs to be charged with Inciting A Riot.

Quit being such a wimp. What difference does it make what web site the story came from. We know there was rioting and by her own admission she let it happen. She's no leader by any means. Baltimore is a done deal.

Read this article to actually understand what is going on:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/mar...526-story.html

Given the City of Baltimore is seeking reimbursement (up to 75%) from FEMA, it appears this is not an outlanding request.

I will admit this was a man-made "disaster", but I suspect this is not breaking new ground here.

Sorry but that is CRAZY TALK.

Local law enforcement will never be replaced by federal law enforcement. This would simply cost too much.

Regarding Federal grants and initiatives directed towards law enforcement, these generally have been good things. Federal funding in the past has paid for additional equipment and manpower.

The Baltimore Mayor "let the riots happen"?

SERIOUSLY? HOW? BE SPECIFIC!!

Did she possess some type of magical power that would have allowed her to stop people from rioting?

Did she tell the Baltimore police force to stop working and sent them all home?

Regarding her comments, I think she was being realistic. I would agree that loss of property is less significant than loss of life. That does NOT mean she was encouraging rioting and looting.

Wiki specific

In philosophy, the term "means to an end" refers to any action (the means) carried out for the sole purpose of achieving something else (an end).
