I've been hobbying for a while, and while CIM isn't rare (thank goodness) it's never been implied that offering BBBJ = CIM.

As for letting her know first - it's simply a matter of whether or not you're a gentleman. I always think it's wise to be a gentleman until a woman informs you that she's prefer you not be one.
