Mali: U.S. Prepares to Back Military Intervention

INTER PRESS SERVICE, 14 JANUARY 2013

U.S. Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta has applauded France's surprise airstrikes on Islamist rebels in northern Mali that began late last week and continued over the weekend. . . .
While Panetta refused to offer details of new U.S. assistance, he did state that there would be "some limited logistical support" and "intelligence support", as well as "some areas of airlift". . . .

In addition to the work being done by the folks in the CIA, the NSA and countless other US government organizations that let you feed your fat ass and sleep soundly at night without interruption. But, I guess that's just all made-up bullshit and we are going to "ignore terrorism."

What fucking world do you live in? I wonder what the soldiers and Marines in Afghanistan risking their lives every day would think about comments like yours...ignoring terrorism? We are fucking all over terrorism.
Then why is it so difficult for this Administration to acknowledge that terrorism exists,

... and call it "terrorism" ....

I know what a cockroach looks like when I see it run across the floor at McDonalds.

Don't try to tell me its a "water bug"!

This administration's "love in" with the "islamic Extremists" was over before it got started, and now the chest beating OBL killers, who want the credit for defeating "terrorism," are paying the price, for believing the themes from B cowboy and Indian movies that killing the "chief" sends the braves running into hiding, and trying to sell that bullshit to the American people ... some on here have actually bought the bullshit.

We have had a joint air base with the French in Northern Africa since Bush Sr was CIC. They fly side-by-side and co-op facilities. If we can fly an unarmed drone over the facility we can fly an armed drone over the facility. Duuuh.

This crap has been ongoing through a number of administrations. It's old news. What "we" did was retreat and leave it to the locals with our materiel. We've done it since the "Korean War" and that's old news also....but it does not go un-noticed by our enemies and potential enemies.

Need to catch up on the "current events" ....

http://thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/e2-...e-in-wind-farm

The "incentive" from government subsidies .. expires .. and the motivation does.

Natural gas is the new "wind" .... look for him to "re-invest" there.

Pickens told an audience at the National Press Club a few years ago, "I'm not a young man; I don't buy green bananas anymore."

What was the facility in Algeria?

U.S. and France don't need to be on the ground in Algeria.

Africa is a big place.

Biggen you had better go do some research on France and Algeria. Look up the 1960s and the Battle of Algiers.

Now the terrorists are demanding a trade for the blind shiek. This keeps coming up and seems to ad credence to the claim that Obama is trying to create a scenario where he can send the Sheik home and he gets to claim a diplomatic victory. If you don't know what I'm talking about (and I'm sure that some of you don't have a clue) one theory that has been advanced a couple of times is that Benghazi was an October surprise. Our ambassador gets kidnapped, they demand the blind sheik, and Obama claims victory after making the swap. Since the sheik is old and blind he is not operational. At least the White House would say that and coverup the symbolism.

It's the French mission in Mali that the U.S. has been backing since the beginning. However, the U.S. IS presently sending "unarmed" drones over Algeria.

“On Thursday, the United States became more deeply involved in the war, working with the French to determine how to best deploy American C-5 cargo planes to ferry French troops and equipment into Mali, according to an American military official. . .

“Senior American military officials said that aides traveling in London with Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta were struggling to get basic information about the raid, and that an unarmed American Predator drone was monitoring the gas-field site. . . .”

The U.S. presence has been associated with the French presence.

http://revolutionaryfrontlines.wordp...ute-in-africa/

The French have simply been there longer and with more experience.
