I’m aghast at your question. In case you aren’t being willfully ignorant, here’s a list:
Statue of Liberty
Ellis island
Broadway
9/11 Memorial
Great restaurants
MOMA
Central Park
30 Rockefeller center

New York City is a big part of our country’s past, future, and present. If you are not a city person, sure, I get that, but to suggest no one would ever want to go there is delusional at best.

Like, I don’t ski, but I get the appeal of a ski trip and a cabin.

Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island, maybe, but I don't think those alone are worth the trip.

Broadway? To watch woke actors make fun of our country, um, no.

Same with 30 Rockefeller, NBC, um, no again.

I've been to the PA 911 Memorial, for the jet we shot down, that's more significant than the one in NYC.

Resaurants, I'm a cook, and I rarely if ever eat out, and, never at the prices they would charge there, I've heard the horror stories.

Museums, again, not into art, much rather see a good scientific museuem like the Museum of the Rockies, In Bozeman, I've been there.

Central Park, not really into seeing just a park, Olmstead designed the Borough of Vandergrift, I've seen his work all my life, America's perfect socialist paradise, seriously, much like Reston VA, and others.

I'd rather go see real wilderness, like we have in central and northern PA.

Further, every dime I spent would be taxed, and fund things I either disagree with or hate, such as the recently overturned ban on firearms carrying.

And, frankly, its turned into a socialistic shit hole again, perhaps when it was cleaned up after Giulianis reconstruction.

I'm not a city person at all either, to me, cities are where the poor congregate, crime is at its worst, people have become sub humans who are afraid to look you in the eye, or shake your hand, and are filled with sheep perfectly free from any desire to protect themselves or be self sufficient, cities are an anathema to me.

Keep it, and enjoy it, I have no desire to go NYC, LA, or any other liberal shithole.

Besides, you know what us deplorables are, and our love of flyover country, and the American flag.

I guess I view the whole country as America.
The smoky mountains are beautiful - the southwest too.
North central PA and the finger lakes are beautiful too.

I’m sorry you hate half your country.

This bit is priceless though.
I’ll only hope you don’t actually like Devo’s music.

I think is too strong of a word.

I don hate ny or la or san fran but I certainly dont enjoy going there. I was raised in the country and always felt smothered in cities. You have to admit, its a different culture compared to smaller cities or rural areas. and devo is right, much higher crime, and dirty. I was in san fran a year ago and it was disgusting. downtown was filthy with hundreds of homeless laying on the sidewalks and im talking about right in front of sachs and other high end stores. I was there 10 years ago and it was like night and day. today I would not feel safe taking my family there

I would be all in favor of requiring anyone who purchases any type of firearm be capable of proving their ability to use it properly and safely. If they can't pass a test of this, they should be required to take a class prior to owing the weapon. That seems to fit the intent of the founders. In their day there wasn't really a concern about someone knowing how to properly operate a musket.

The jet we shot down? I’ve seen jets that have gotten shot down, it looks nothing like Shanksville. That aircraft went head first into the dirt at 500 knots plus.

A musket is 1000x more dangerous, and difficult, to shoot than a Glock.

I love NYC, Times Square in particular. We got up there for a couple days at least twice a year before covid. Definitely wouldn’t want to live there, but just sitting around with a cocktail watching all the weirdos, and hot babes, is a great time.

Sorry, no more chit chat unless its about the 2nd A, please start a new thread if you want to talk about tourism..

As for education for firearms training, as long as its optional, its a good thing for those who need it, I ask every customer if they are familiar with their new weapon, and I've taught proper takedown techniques to many new gun owners, and trained a few in basic gun safety and shooting.

Excellent post! Would hate to live there but NYC is awesome to visit.
Only problem now is you can’t get away from the “ice cream” in the air. Once it became “legal” it’s seriously all over the place.
Just like guns will be. Now you bump into a drunk on Broadway instead of fists we get bullets. Super
