If you really think Rush Limbaugh and Karl Rove have had no effect on how the political parties act, well...
@IIFFOFRDB: While I may disagree with Karl Rove's political views, I can't argue that he hasn't been very effective in the past with his scorched earth tactics (he did get Bush Jr. elected twice). His time may be done now, but he did have a pretty good track record for awhile. I also can't fault the philosophy of winning elections at all costs. With the way our political system works, being a pretty much winner-takes-all system, you -have- to win or else your party gets nothing.
