The negotiating Chinese officials wanted to reword some texts of the proposed trade deal to make it look more "balanced" to ensure the "dignity" of both nations, so they can save face to the Chinese people by claiming this deal isn't so one-sided against their own national interests. Other than that, they pretty much gave in to Trump's each and every demands, so what's wrong with that?

I do think a 50% tarriff on Chinese goods should be put in place. actually, I think U.S. should embargo China.
also, there should be a law prohibiting any U.S. companies from doing business in china.
hopefully this will force american companies to leave China.
I'm not too pleased with the blatant censorship taking place in our movie industries as a condition to enter the chinese market.

No Andy, Trump's in bed with Democratic Senators Schumer, Warren and Sanders on this. They're giving him cover for executive actions to increase tariffs under the guise of "national security."

I don't know diddly squat about the Great Depression. The Smoot Hawley Act may or may not have been one of the root causes. But it sure as hell made it worse:

Perhaps you could explain the wisdom of 25% tariffs on all imports from China, along with 25% tariffs on steel and 10% on aluminum. Hopefully Trump is using the 25% tariffs as a negotiating tool and they'll fall by the wayside soon. If not he's nuts. He'd be breaking apart supply chains and throwing away industrial capacity. And for what? So the American consumer can pay more for goods? So companies can abandon factories in China and build new ones in places like Vietnam, where armies of women will do numbing assembly work that Americans don't want? I don't get it.

Why? In economic terms, this sounds like World War I, a great way to make everyone worse off for no reason.

Wow! That's pretty radical. I hope people around here are getting their news from more that just where the Waco kid gets his.
On the film industry censorship; I understand there are similarities in the Arab markets for the movies.

Hollywood's left wing slant on all their work is worst than censorship.

I have a claw hammer I bought at a building supply chain (not WalMart) ... and couldn't figure out why the head was somewhat rounded and when striking a nail it went off at an angle somewhat bending the nail into a useless angle that required pulling and replacing ... then I noticed the hammer was "Made in China"!
I opted for a more expensive "Made in USA" hammer with a flat head.
I call it my "SocialistLiberalAntiTrump hammer" OR
..."SLAT hammer" for short.
I still have the Chinese Hammer and use it for banging on things that don't need to have a professional appearance ...
... or just need to be broken, like thin rocks.
In the long run it's more cost-effective to buy quality merchandise that lasts longer, and buying products manufactured in the USA creates jobs for more people.
Besides before anyone gets all hysterical and whiny the "tarrifs" Trump imposed won't kick in for awhile ... and if any retailers raise their prices within the next few months they are "hedging" and "gouging" to take profits from sales on goods not assessed the new tariffs. See if they also raise their hourly pay rate.

So we can count you in with those of us with a Libertarian leaning that want less government interference, lower taxes, keep the government out of my property, and open up the wonderful floodgates of capitalism.

thought you were talking about this.
Ball Pein
Normally used by engineer's, the pein in this case, is rounded and is usually used for shaping metal and closing rivets. Ball pein hammers are available from 55 - 1100 (4 oz up to 2 lb.), 110 - 165g (8oz 12oz) are the most suitable for general use. Handles are normally wood, usually Ash or Hickory.
then I realized you said "claw hammer". evidently, chinese quality control is crappy. cheap stuff, you get what you pay for.
its one thing to get quality cheap stuff from china, but most are crap tho.
Harbor Freight has a lot of cheap tools; cheaper than Home Depot or Lowes and they're mostly made in china.

Trump [ ] suggested that the U.S. was "collecting" big tariffs from China.
"Would be wise for them to act now, but love collecting BIG TARIFFS!" he tweeted.

Hey little andy, it's a negotiation, not a war. And fyi trumpy is fine with owning it. When all is said and done, if we wind up with a deal that corrects our trade imbalance and helps our economy, will you pin the blame, er, I mean the credit on Trump?
You're right about one thing, liberals like Schumer and Pelosi sure do spew a lot of gibberish!
