Is he being tried in military or civilian court?
I seriously don't know, the case seems to cross both sides

I have not seen where they have decided. My guess would be military, but I have little confidence in that guess.

In April 2011, a panel of experts ruled that Manning was fit to stand trial. An Article 32 hearing, presided over by Lieutenant Colonel Paul Almanza, was convened on December 16, 2011, at Fort Meade, Maryland; the hearing resulted in Almanza recommending that Manning be referred to a general court-martial. He was arraigned on February 23, 2012, and declined to enter a plea.

. . . and he is still being held in military custody at Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility.

Maybe we could keep the dip/chickenshit back and forth limited to one thread, instead of...er..."tainting" every fucking thread? Who wants to start one dedicated to it? (Fuck, now 3sides is going to be drawn like a fucking magnet here)

That will change things considerably from the normal civilian courts.
Thanks IB

Bradley Manning is in prison for leaking evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the US government. Here are just a few of the acts this "traitor" helped expose.

These are things our government is hiding from us to cover their own asses. Manning is a hero for being brave enough to honor his oath to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States". His oath did not include covering up the misdeeds and crimes committed by the government.

That attack that killed a Reuters journalist also included the killing of some children. Really? You are proud of that? And think it is justified? If so, STFU about Newtown.

Manning did nothing noble. Manning petulantly stole sensitive and secret documents and released those documents after being reprimanded and punished by his superiors for poor duty performance. His purpose was not noble, it was petty revenge. Manning’s purpose was to embarrass the U.S. and compromise its position internationally, because he was childishly unhappy with his circumstances for which he had voluntarily enlisted. The July 12, 2007, helicopter incident in particular is noteworthy because it was selectively edited and presented out of context to both outrage and inflame public opinion: there was nothing noble about that presentation – it was 100% propaganda.
