Sophia, you need to check this tour out: http://www.experiencehendrixtour.com/ It features artists such Zakk Wilde, Johnny Lang, Buddy Guy, Keb Mo, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Dweezil Zappa, etc...playing nothing but Hendrix all night.

I'm catching it in Jackson on March 10th and maybe again in NOLA on the 15th. You might want to look into going.

If nothing else, look up Zakk Wilde playing VooDoo Chile on an acoustic with electric pickups, amazing.

Oooo! I actually MET Kenny Wayne Shepard, a long time ago. He was playing at Jazz Fest I think in 2010 or 11. A gentleman friend, not a client, knows his father, they go WAY back. Kenny was really nice.

I agree Nicolet. Red House is one of my favorites, Jimi could play some blues.

Any thoughts on SRV versions of Hendrix songs? I like his Little Wing and Voodoo Chile

Love Little Wing & VooDoo Chile from Hendrix and SRV. I think SRV covered them the right way, he paid tribute to Hendrix then added his own flavor. I just wish SRV had done Hey Joe as that song is one of my all time favorites.
