despite what you and the Chungster think Trump was the republican front runner the day he announced he was running and was never behind in the delegate counts the whole way leading up to the RNC convention. he was never largely behind in polls either. at worst tied at a few early points. as he continued to win delegates and pull away from the pack several things happened. one was the push to have delegates bound to Trump by his primary wins not vote for Trump at the convention. that didn't happen of course and Trump easily won on the first ballot. and the anti-Trump faction began what eventually became the Steele dossier. Steele was not involved until after the convention and the anti-Trumpers had given up their efforts to find dirt on Trump because it simply wasn't there in the first place. In comes Hillary Clinton and via Perkins Coie money flowed to Fusion GPS and they recruited Steele, a foreign asset who worked with other foreign contacts i.e. Russians AND Ukrainians to compile a fake dossier to be used against Trump.
