I think i have a psychological problem because i love a good hoodrat. I speak their language so i usually have a good time with them. That being said if they don't text me back in a short time frame i move on. A hoodrat only works when they need money, if they don't answer in 15 they are not broke and they aren't working.

I definitely agree that the time I'll wait for a response depends on who it is and what their business model is.

I'm also someone whose hobbying opportunities tend to be limited, and arise on little or no notice, so I'm usually trying to see someone who's advertising on one of the sites like LC/EB, or STG. For the typical provider in this category - you know, the type who sometimes put in their ads something like "Don't contact me unless you are ready NOW!" - I will normally allow somewhere around 30 to 60 minutes for a reply before I give up. My rationale is that this type of provider is normally doing QV or HH appointments in most cases (with the occasional full hour once in a while), and even if I catch them somewhere at the very beginning of a full hour appointment, I'd hope they'd at least check messages at the end of that appointment. In most cases, though, what I'm getting any more is no response at all (ever), or response somewhere from 4 to 12 hours after I've sent my initial inquiry (when my window of opportunity has usually long since closed).

For a SB or someone I'd more consider to be a "professional escort", I would normally be trying to schedule in advance, and I'm usually asking about a specific meeting time. If it's more than a few days between the initial contact attempt and the proposed appointment time, I'll generally allow until the end of the next day for a response (any kind of response, even just "I got your message, I'll get back to you soon") before I give up. If it's only a day or two ahead, I'll generally allow until the morning of the proposed appointment, and if I hear nothing by then, I will give up. To be honest, I actually usually get the quickest response from providers in this category (when I find one I want to see), if they're actually serious about meeting with clients - when College Lucy first started posting on Tryst, I contacted her to ask about setting something up about a week ahead, and we actually had the date and time confirmed within about 2 hours of me hitting "Send" on the very first e-mail I sent her.

This thread happens to be timely for me, given something I experienced in the last couple of days. There's a SB that I'd met with last year, that I really liked and was hoping to see somewhat regularly, and we were in the middle of making plans to meet again - and then she went dark. I think I tried to contact her an additional three times, over the course of about three weeks, after she stopped responding, with no response. After that, I just gave up - I assumed that either she didn't want to do this anymore, or didn't care for me for some reason, or found a more long-term arrangement that was fully occupying her, or something like that - one way or the other, I just figured she was either no longer available (particularly since she had also pulled her profile on SA at about the same time - even though I did talk to her briefly right after she did that, and she told me she'd still see me), or at least no longer available to me for some reason... Anyway, last night, out of the blue, I get a text from her - responding to the last text I sent her, more than 5 months ago, as if there were nothing unusual about that. It's always something...

...or they're still sleeping, or they fell back asleep, or the wifi cut out so their free (garbage) text app on their busted phone isn't receiving messages, or they have dozens of texts to sift through to get to yours. It amazes me that I get to see anyone at all sometimes!

And don't forget that many 'free' sites (LC etc) will auto-post the ads sometimes. So, just because you see a post from her at 9 AM, doesn't mean that she actually posted it.

(bigguyt - I love a good hoodrat too, so maybe we'll end up in the loony bin together lol)
