When I was in the service I had a problem with my weight for a few years. I carried a white and a yellow tailor's tape measure with two inches missing. Always tried to substitute them for the one the officer had.

You already went there, should have told her the correct way to measure is right when it comes. I would suggest this as a way to resolve the different measurement results.
