May 1 has, at least in recent times, been the signal day for Communist, Socialist, or any other political persuasion that's has a primary function of taking from one group and giving to another in the name of equality.
President Obama did his self no favors by making any declarations on that particular day. Especially when that Declaration is ripe with the idea that we all some how need to be reminded to be Loyal to our Country.
I am Loyal to The Constitution. All of it, from the part that gives the Government the right to tax my hard earned dollars, to the part that allows me to keep and bear arms for what ever purpose I choose.
Well put. Anyone who doesn't agree with your last two sentences is just wondering aimlessly about. The Constitution is what keeps this country intact. Those that oppose it, really don't care about America at all.
You don't see the eerie similarities, do you, CBJ7? That is because the Obamatron has you under its control. You need to heed the following advice:
I LOVE that picture. I used to watch alot of TV. Now a days, If I get 30 min in, that's alot. It's so liberating to live a life and not watch someone else live a fake one.

I hope you quit watching Glenn Beck and his phoney baloney
I love a good Obama bashing as much as the next guy, but not when its at the expense of truth. Dammit.
Loyalty Day has been around for half a century. We can debate the value of it (seems pretty stupid to me), but unfortunately Obama didn't invent the idea. In signing the Proclamation, Obama simply did what every President since Eisenhower has done.
No one associates Rove with the Liberty Movement. Gawd, CBJ7, you really are stupid at an EvaEkim level.
A big hardy fuck you to the biggest loser on the board COG (Hanoi Jane) How about a rent about the libertarian from Texas who wants to eliminate all government. ?????

I think we are to strong of a country to tolerate terrorism. But they keep shoving it down our throats. Iam ready for the last chapters on our conflicts in the Middle East, and this bogus war on terrorism. If it doesn't come soon we're fucked.
agreed, you sir are preaching to the choir ..
we are too strong to even mention communism ... COF's form of terrorism, desperately trying to damage this country from within
Loyalty Day is an opportunity to express and reaffirm our loyalty to our country. In proclaiming this day, President George W. Bush wrote: "We express allegiance to our Nation and its founding ideals, we resolve to ensure that the blessings of liberty endure and extend for generations to come."
But, this day did not start with George Bush' proclamation. It dates back to the 1920's.
On Loyalty Day, we reaffirm our allegiance to our country and resolve to uphold the vision of our Forefathers. We should also take a moment to appreciate the members of our armed forces who are displaying the ultimate in loyalty and service to protect our freedoms, and liberty, and our way of life.
Origin of Loyalty Day: Loyalty Day was first celebrated in the 1920's. Communism was on the rise, and feared in America. At the time, May Day (May 1st) was perceived by some as a Communist holiday. In a sense, Loyalty Day was intended to counter this.
The U.S. Congress made this an official holiday on July 18, 1958 with the signing of Public Law 85-529. Then President Dwight D. Eisenhower, proclaimed May 1, 1959 the first official observance of Loyalty Day.
Sins, you are correct. I was wrong. I did not know this was a tradition.
I HEREBY RETRACT MY POST, AND CONGRATULATE PRESIDENT OBAMA FOR CONTINUING THIS TRADITION ACCORDING TO THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF THE DAY!
I will also publicly, at least here, apologize to the President for the comparison I made. He was not deserving of it this time, in fact, I am glad he made the proclamation.
Now, have at it boys. I don't make mistakes very often, so you better enjoy this one.

COG - that's why I luvs you. It takes a real man to admit to the occasional error. I can agree though, that this Loyalty Day is archaic and a throwback to a time when all good red blooded Americans were down for their country to prove we were more patriotic and loyal than those godless commie bastards. I think we can safely let this little tradition go considering most Americans have never even heard of it.

You fuck up daily Whiny. You are just blinded by your hatred for our big bad black president that you can't see it!
But we can.
I'm sure POTUS will be happy for your apology.
I don't hate anyone, Assup, not even you! And while I disapprove of nearly 99% of what Obama does, I have no problem with who he is. And while you want to interject race into everything, I do not consider his race. I think you have a lot of latent racism which makes you uncomfortable. Get help, my friend. You can be happy, if you've a mind to!
