1970 Firebird Formula 400 big block and ram hood scoops. Muncie 4 speed w posi. Fucking fast ass car and made such pretty sound and rubble. Another friend had a 72 olds 442 convertible which was also a fast car. Both were able to pin those speedos over 140. Not so hard to do now but back then was moving pretty fast.

The Mecum Auction is on Motortrend TV until Saturday. Some sweet rides are being sold. Seems like prices are down a little. A 63 Corvette Fuelie convertible, red, sidepipes sold for 80k. Those usually sell for 100k.

Never owned a muscle cars but certainly remember that era of muscle cars and muscle car wannabes. Loved the GTO and the Vettes.

70 Shelby Gt 350 convertible hammered at 175k. Red, white interior. How did this country forget how to design such awesome cars?

Plymouth Super Bird just went for 250k. Was there ever a more outrageous street car ever designed? They sold for 4K in 1970.

Dodge Daytonas are more rare. Only 500 built. First car to break 200mph on a closed track. Talladega. NASCAR banned the hemi and winged cars. The Daytona dominated.

63 split window just hammered at 250k. White, red interior. No side pipes. But a pristine and awesome car. Not a fuelie. Which is surprising.

I owned a 65 Corvette 396 425hp ragtop that was an awesome car. Restored it then sold after owning for 15+ years. While the newer ones may be quicker and handle better, nothing ever came close to sound and feel from all that hp especially with the factory side pipes.
