A vacation companion would be great if she needed a vacation also. But realistically you can't expect someone to go just for the fun of traveling for free.

I would love to take a vacation for a couple days with the right person but if a fee was involved other than trip cost I likely would not have those kind of funds.

Guess it would depend on what arrangements are worked out.

Nothing against the providers or the hobbyists that pay them a set rate to go on vacation...I get it. This is a business for providers and time = $...To each their own and I don't judge...

But some how taking a provider to a great vacation spot, picking up all expenses "and" paying her a set rate or package rate on top of that just doesn't work for me....

I'd rather go out and meet a civi ahead of time or phone a previous FWB....Plus there are too many civi gold diggers in Dallas or Houston who would jump at a chance to go to St. Lucia....ijs

I have someone I travel with regularly. We always stay in a super nice place. I have an open food/bar tab. And he gives me about $200 a day for spending money.

Psychologically, I think it would feel better than..."I will go on vacation with you for $X amount"

Much better psychologically on both sides. Trust me, my bar tab can get rather steep if he's working all day. But he's never complained.

Uh Huh. What SNL said.... I'm not that desperate for a date. On my business trips I take Civilians, former college mates, or FWB.

When I first read this thread I thought "hell yes! Paid vacation" but the situation you described seems a little more likely to occur and depending on the destination and the gent I'd be more than happy to pack my bags and jet off. I love a vacation and as long as everything is handled and I have a lil extra (not my full hourly rate, for every hour of the vacation... That's just ridiculous) I'm first in line for a trip! Lol

I doubt expenses and gifts would be enough for most as providers have to eat too. What you describe runs very close to a SB/SD thing....and that's a whole nother subject.
