I get the gist of what you are saying though. A few years ago we were all lead to believe that every girl in Thailand had aids and was dying...it was fear mongering...I can assure you they are all alive and they are spectacular...

But this thing kills in 10 days to 2 weeks...its a totally different threat. I wonder if we have actually panicked ENOUGH?

We'll know a lot more two weeks from now...that one nurse had contact with many, many people. So it its going to spread, it will happen now....or it wont!

I think I am going to pull out (no pun intended) for a while. It's true we fear what we don't understand and we have no idea of whats going on with Ebola. Nobody truly knows how this is getting transmitted. First it was from bodily fluids, but if that was the case then tell me why everyone who has come in contact with an Ebola carrier has to be monitored? Let me answer that for you, in the event that this is a mutated strand of the virus and now it is transmitted with skin to skin contact, or worse, airborne transmittal. Until the individuals who get paid truckloads of money to figure this out, I am going to avoid any additional risks.

Again, not to alarm people, just reminding all to not trust the mainstream media nor our government. This scenario is ENTIRELY plausible to me as someone intimate to the workings of our so called healthcare "system". My suggestion is to imagine the trajectory of this potential epidemic from the point when the crap hit the fan two weeks ago and imagine it's progression since then. That's the more likely situation we are in now, despite the governmental and media blackout.

That article was linked by Drudge and the Blaze which have proved far more reliable than the New York Times and Washington Post as a monitor of the administration's actions (or inaction). I admit that Alex Jones CAN be "out there" but he isn't always and to discount him reflexively is less than open minded. I read everything with a grain of salt but if you begin with the premise that the government is not being totally up front with its ebola policies (which you have to admit, is reasonable) then you have to admit that almost anything is possible, particularly 2 weeks preelection. Remember this is the same government that claims that rogue IRS agents in Cincinnati took it upon themselves to target conservative 501c3s and promoted a story of an anti Muslim video triggering Benghazi. These whoppers test our patience, as does the CDC's inane statements regarding our preparedness to combat a crisis such as that posed by Ebola. Lest you think I'm being hyper partisan, I trust republicans as much as I trust democrats. All I'm saying is that we need to stay vigilant. Alex Jones may be selling ad space but I'm not. I care about many people including friends in the hobby and ask that people stay skeptical and informed. Eventually, this thing may get too big to cover up. In that case we will all figure it out eventually. I hope I'm wrong (I've been wrong before) but so far, this does NOT pass the sniff test.

Sometimes, Alex is correct about something, but check and doublecheck if that seems to be the case.

It's like when my 3 year old daughter tells me there's a pony in the backyard. I go look to keep her happy, but I don't expect to find anything out there, and if there is anything there at all, it's probably not the pony she thought she saw.

TF, it looks as if the STATE governments might be stepping up where the Federal government has not. Heres an excerpt from the linked article.


A nurse, Kaci Hickox of Doctors Without Borders, was immediately detained Friday in New Jersey and quarantined in a hospital against her will. She has no Ebola symptoms, has tested negative for Ebola and is angry about her treatment, writing in the Dallas Morning News, “This is not a situation I would wish on anyone, and I am scared for those who will follow me.”

I like this line of thinking. We've had one nurse infected flying in commercial planes and one Dr cavorting around in subways in New York. Confining people for 3 weeks is a small price to pay to keep everyone else safe. Its not fool proof, but it sure beats a random rectal temp check at the airport! However, I think its a matter of days until the federal government flexes their stupidity & overrides the states decision. Particularly as they are sending 4K SOLIDIERS there. Of course, none of the soldiers will come in contact with ebola patients per the article.

I applaud these humanitarians like Dr Hickox, but no one else should be put in danger because she has a passion for this or little fear of it.
