Wow, the crowds at the White House are getting really big. I am happy for our country and very proud of our special forces, intelligence officers, the military and our Commander In Chief, President Obama. We will never forget 9/11 and those that were lost.

Yeah got him but there are no shortages of assholes who want us wiped of the map!! So who's next syria, iran, libya, north korea, bahrain, mexico??? Yeah I said mexico not cuz we hate the government there but cuz of the ongoing violence with the drugs, I think it's just a matter of time before we are sending troops there to help also... but the other countries we have problems with whether it's their dictators or their civil rights abuses so who's up next for the world's police force....oops I mean the american military..

Yes and it also highlights cowboy84's observation about the military industrial complex. I can't remember the presidents name that warned us about the military industrial complex but even he saw it then.

I have merged the Coed thread on this topic with this thread because it is a Sandbox topic and the Sandbox thread appeared first. Let's keep all discussion of this topic to this thread.

Thank you and God Bless the USA and its Armed Forces!

Until all of the terrorists are dead, the War On Terror will press on.

Unfortunately, I doubt that will be in any of our lifetimes... or our children...

I agree, there will always be a terrorist threat to the US. It's the only way, albeit cowardly, that terrorist can conflict any damage. I fear that we will always be engaged in some type of military operations against terrorism.

Don't know that it will change anything, it could give the fanatics more of a resolve, but I sure am glad they finally caught up to him!!!!
Just a minor correction, the quote is actually attributed to Clarence Darrow.
From Wikiquote:
"I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction."

Doesn't change the sentiment though...

As a country and being that support for the wars has been waning, we needed a big victory (if I can call it that considering the enormous loss of life) like this to get our resolve towards our missions and troop withdrawal back on track.

It's completely irrelevant. He was completely irrelevant. Just a man.. still can't defeat fanaticism, best just leaving that part of the world alone. I'm just glad it didn't finally happen on Dubya's watch or that moron would be crowing like he'd pulled the trigger himself.
