No you didn't mention our president and the statement was directed at the OP.
He posted an article from Yahoo that mentioned the following people as supportive of a discussion on gun control:
Mike Thonpson..Dem from CA..
white
Jack Kingston..Rep from GA...
white
Diane Feinstein..Dem from CA...
white
Joe Manchin..Dem from WV..
white
Harry Reid..Dem from NV..
white
Charles Grassley..Rep from IA..
white
Barack Obama...Pres...
Black
The article also states not all republicans would rule out tackling gun control.
The title of the post is "
Obamas first step". We have Dems and Repubs, women and men talking about the potential for new gun legislation, but the OP single out Obama. Obama has no more power than the Congress to implement such legislation. Bigotry doesn't have to be a concious act, but it is what it is. Just because no one acknowledges the elephant in the room doesn't mean it's not there. And no, not every republican is a bigot. They just have more than their share.
This is going to be my last post on this for now. If anybody wants to continue this thread feel free. I'll weigh in after these families have buried their children.
