I have never seen a "hard right" religious person successfully implement religion into law. I must point out that "hard right" and "religious" are not synonymus. Religious people talk about values and point to religion. I have seen a few (very few) religious people turn their values into law. Maybe prohibition and the end of slavery are the two greatest examples of religious values but many conservatives are not religious (such as myself). They and I would strongly object to turning religious dogma into law. Why make murder illegal? or theft? or perjury? or character assassination (slander)? only the military has to worry about coveting their neighbors (shipmates) wife. Anyway, Santorum may be religious but I have yet to find an instance when you translated that into law. I don't count gay marriage as that was against the law a long time before Santorum.

Santorum is just an idiot who was voted out by record numbers in PA years ago.
People who vote for him are just as idiot as he is.
We can only hope that there are not too many of those idiots.
But he will have no chance debating Obama so every win of him is a huge success for Obama.
But you have to see positive things in everything that happens. His winnings drove Gingrich to a 3rd place I believe, that is a great thing.
Gingrich is just an angry old fat man who doesn't deserve to win in any state.
And so far everything is going as expected.

Scuba Diving is my hobby since 32 years, 1980.
My record at this moment is diving to a wreck in the Pacific on the coast of CA @ 140 feet deep. It even required special "nitrox" air. But I have a license for that so don't worry.

The problem I have with the religious right is that I do not hold their views. I am not Christian. Further to that, I’m vehemently non-Christian and am a convert to Judaism for a variety of reasons that I won’t get into here. Having said that, I have no problem with anyone who holds with Christianity or any other religion for that matter. Religion is a very personal choice. The American Constitution protects freedom of religion. And I believe morally corrupt to try to coheres an individual away from or to any religion.
The cohesion is my main problem with the religious right. No, they do not enact their beliefs and dogma into law, but that’s not for a lack of trying. The crimes you listed are crimes against humanity. With our without the Christian religion they would be illegal. Moral codes and social needs would address such crimes. If Christians (and other religions too – Islam comes to mind.) would just live and let live, there would be a lot fewer problems in the world. In short, the Christian belief that if others would believe as any given Christian or Muslim would believe, it would make the person doing the cohesion feel better about themselves.
Santorim will place his religious beliefs above all else and then govern from there. Abortion, gay marriage, birth control – which he thinks should be illegal!, wars with countries with other religions and who knows what else is not what’s important right now. Getting out of W’s religions / hate daddy war is. Getting our economy on track is. Getting out from under foreign oil is. Getting a real health care system in place for our people is. Denying birth controls to people that are going to have sex no matter what isn’t. It is Santorim’s business what God(s) he worships just as it is my business what God I worship. I just don’t believe that he, or any other fanatically religious, individual can separate their religious judgment from their social judgment. We have a protection from being ruled by in a religious State.

But gay marriage is part of the “religious” law. If it were just a social belief that homosexuals should not be allowed to marry, similar to close relatives marrying, that would be one thing. But that’s not the case. Those against homosexual marriage always reference the Bible and God as reasons why they should not marry. The only reason people can come up with to argue gay marriage remain unrecognized and illegal.

Not the way I see it. The way I see it; he's a fanatic.
This is a scary passage:
Santorum could not be more unambiguous: His policy decisions will be based on "biblical truths," and as he noted, these "truths" will not change regardless of whether public opinion has evolved since the time the Bible was written thousands of years ago.
Also, birth control doesn't harm women like he says.

...I didn't think you were a Mormon, just a Moron. Because we need another super millionaire out of touch with reality in the White House I'm sure you'll vote for him.

It is truly amazing that the real life problem solving skills of an individual can be taken seriously when they are guided by the mythological ramblings of booger eating, barefoot, misogynistic sheep herders scribbled onto animal skins while squatting in their caves in the middle east during the bronze age.
The fact that humanity has still not outgrown the fairy tales of our collective youth underscore how glacially slow evolution really is.
I'm sorry, I really don't say this to offend, it is just so painfully, obviously delusional to me that it breaks my heart.

Your realize you are linking to a piece written on CNN blog by a stand up comedian..........now that is TFF.
http://deanofcomedy.com/
You would have more credibility if you posted the video and full context of Santorum's statements rather than some obscure stand up comic's spin !
You could have posted the full video of Santorium's statements but instead you went the lazy route............
Your attempt to decieve exposes your own bigotry and fanaticism.

Nothing like a good ole' fashion, leftist style ad-homonym to end a post.
I guess I've put off putting you on "ignore" for too long.
Bye now.

Funny. You post a smug multi-sentence rant against booger eating, knunckle dragging, barefoot cave dwelling, misogynist sheep hearding believers and then get your panties all wadded up; crying about ad-homonys.
Grow up. Take your phony air of intellectual superiority and disappear.
And please put me on ignore, so I don't have to deal with you.
BTW; this post is meant for others (NOT you). Afterall, you shouldn't be reading this because I am on your ignore list.

It was the Iron Age – the Age of the Roman Empire. The works of Pythagoras, Euclid, Archimedes, Aristotle, Plato, Eratosthenes, Copernicus, Ptolemy, Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī, Abū al-Hasan ibn Alī al-Qalasādī, Averroes, Banū Mūsā, et al., were all published on vellum. Age and the substance of the medium are not reasons to discard the knowledge and wisdom of the ancients.
