I've heard about that smokescreen theory. I'm not buying it. The saints did have injuries that were impacted in key positions that created a 3 game loss.
The fact that Sean Peyton would deliberately lose 3 games in a row to sucker people into thinking "uh oh, saints are in trouble". This would imply that Peyton is a Master Tactician. He's good, but he's not that good to be a master tactician.
The 3 game slide was a smokescreen!
