What do you think the minimum wage should be, RaggedyAndy?

I just don't want to hear any whining when a loaf of bread costs $4.00, a gallon of milk goes up to $5.00 a gallon, and when a McDonald's quarterpounder combo meal goes up to $10.00.

In Switzerland it was 16.50 for a Burger King double whopper meal. Nobody seemed to have a problem with it ... I guess when everybody makes more, everybody makes more.

Why is it that since the minimum wage was introduced, the actual buying power of the dollar has steadily declined?
How many decades of decline in the value of the dollar does it take to realize there is a direct relationship between artificially imposing a minimum wage standard, and the erosion of the value of the dollar?
Want higher wages? Lower unemployment so that employers have to compete for a stable work force through higher wages and better benefits.
Better yet, why not impose an arbitrary MAXIMUM wage instead?

Apparently in Switzerland you can't have it your way, even at Burger King.

I don't know if the Thread Title is true; but if it is, it is more signals that there is little difference between the GOP and the Dems............

On common sense issues of interest to all, why should the two parties be at each others throats?

Not really a common sense issue, unless the common sense is for all to oppose.
You cannot create wealth by mandating income. Contrary to yssup`s statement, when everyone makes more things just cost more.

This isn't about creating wealth. It's about raising the MIMINUM WAGE!
I'd put that somewhere along the lines of reducing poverty and the cost of entitlements which the job creators and baby savers out there so staunchly support.
