Sounds like prices have gone up, this was the 1990's roughly 1993-97 in my 20's when I hit these places. FYI Reno is much better in general, think I have been to Reno maybe 5X now and Vegas a million and Vegas is not that good old town out west it used to be just an overbuilt giant commercial center, now designed for a bunch of fucking kids and families it lost all it's luster that Reno has maintained ( better) despite it's growth that ' biggest little city in the world'( Is that sign still there?) ; if I move outside TX and not abroad it's either Reno, Denver or Florida pending referendums in 2020 in FL. You live in a beautiful part of the country so close to all. And you have the River Cats or whatever they are called, they play here in Round Rock vs our AAA Team for the Astros, or Rangers keeps switching, think the former now.

Fair Oaks and Folsom I think is where my family lives out there they wanted me to move out there but no way I will pay CA state income taxes but Reno is just a short drive a with 0% state income tax... Skiing, rafting, the great outdoors, cool weather and cheaper than Colorado and the 4%-6% tax... It's an option..

Thanks for posting in this discussion of legalization; so many want what they don't understand just because ' it would be easier' when in fact given how it would be structured under any system would be terrible and your story of how you can still get it in Reno is exactly the other reason it would never work; black market will always beat the price of legal services and add in the fact we do not have the cheap labor to ' staff establishments that sell sex' only the rich could afford it and we all know the rich for the most part will only see the upper end girls or wisely travel abroad if have the time while the middle class themselves couldn't even afford these cat houses and the poor couldn't even get there!

BTW I also found girls in Reno proper between the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus hotels. Last summer, my wife ran for a seat on our state legislature. The only bill she wanted to introduce was a bill to decriminalize prostitution.

A bill like that is something that only a female can present. If a man did it nobody would take him seriously.

Unfortunately, my wife did not win the election.

It was during her campaign that we contacted some sex-worker advocacy groups and I joined this forum.

That is great to hear about your wife! Decriminalization would be great. I agree that legalizations will cause a lot of headaches with women having to get licensed. In the end it would just be women getting arrested for working without a license and perhaps fined heavily.

I have no legal background but I do believe laws on prostitution are made at the state, county and municipal levels not Federal. I am not sure how these candidates on the national stage can make any changes and simply are just blowing smoke up the asses of voters to gain their votes in a similar fashion that Trump has said he wants to ' study the reclassification of marijuana on the Federal level' to let the states have full control and/or the use of the national banking system to be allowed as we all know in the western states it is cash only and taxes are paid in cash at county offices... Team Red and Team Blue both seem to be pandering for votes...

Booker, Sanders etc. all seem to say the same but I do not think the Feds can technically legalize smoke or prostitution rather delegate that option to the states and clear the path for them to do so w/o fear of Federal intervention...

I think even in Canada it varies between provinces, in Ontario outcalls are legal yet in British Colombia ' I think' there are incalls that operate either legally or perhaps they exist in a vacuum or grey area.

I think all of us are living in a dream world if we think things will change with either of ' these vices' and a simple look at this Alabama legislation regarding abortion basically banning it shows this country is going down the wrong path as far as our freedoms go. When a bunch of senile old white men are deciding the fate and telling women what they can and can not do with their bodies I highly doubt any of us should hold out any hope for prostitution to change and if it did and ever reached the highest court in the land

We already have laws that require all businesses to file taxes. So enacting more laws to specify that escorts be taxed, is stupid.

We already have 'Public Health' officials who track cases of STDs, so enacting more laws to specify that escorts must have some additional level of health screening, is stupid.

My wife and I are both active supporters of the Libertarian Party of Maine. We do not see any reason to add additional laws to the books.

With 'Legalization' usually comes a drive to write many pages of additional laws to regulate the industry.

Which is why she wanted to 'Decriminalize' consensual sex between adults.
