I was 18 or 19 at the time. Didn't know squat about the adult entertainment business other than what I saw from Hollywood's finest. I thought all adult businesses would guarantee a trip to the sack with a hot looking lady. With that mentality in mind, I hit the strip clubs thinking I found the jackpot. All these naked girls running around; I thought for sure "scoring" was automatic, so I went in with a plan. I'd go in and act all cool. Take in the scene; scope out the club and the girls. Getta feel for the action. Once I had an idea, I'd hit the ATM and be ready to pay for play. Well in my research phase, this one hot dancer came up to me and asked if I wanted a private dance. I was thinking to myself, damn this is going better than planned. She told me I could get 3 songs for $50 (this was back in the day). I was thinking wow, this is going to be easier and cheaper than I thought. Of course, there's this little voice in the back of my head screaming, make sure this is not a dream. The dancer then asked the "magical" question-- "What do you want to do?" Well, in my most clinical and straight forward response, I said, "Intercourse. You do offer intercourse, right?" Without a beat, the dancer's reply was a less than convincing, "you'll enjoy yourself." She said it with a smile, but the message was clear, "you gotta be kidding." I felt like an idiot. Soon thereafter, I left the club with my tail between my legs. I bet that I was the punchline for every joke at that club for the next month. After about upteen other attempts make it with a lady in the adult entertainment business, it took me the better part of 10 years after that experience to finally score with a provider.

Before learning proper ettique. When I first started in the hobby I would ask specific questions when dealing with BP/craiglist girls. Mostly having been burnt a few times. I guess I was lucky and didn't have any LE issue but was stupid. Since learning about review boards, I'm still learning new stuff about the hobby.

Reminds me of a Tucker Max story (thanks to BCG) wherein Tucker describes a "first encounter" of the greek variety. Although the lady in this recitation was not a provider, it remains one of my favorite stories of "first encounters" gone disaster...
