Wowza! Misty Copeland is absolutely gorgeous, and these photographs are stunning. Thanks for sharing!
I'd also suggest that whoever is interested in learning more about her watch "A Ballerina's Tale" which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last Spring and is now available to watch on PBS.
Brittany Howard & Alabama Shakes win Best Rock Song at the 2016 Grammys
Despite the fact that Rock and Roll expanded upon musical genres invented by African Americans such as Blues, and that the Rock genre wouldn't be what it is today without the late 19th century and early 20th century contributions of African American musicians, you'd hardly be able to tell based on who wins major awards such as the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album or Best Rock Song.
Brittany Howard, along with her Alabama Shakes band mates, won the Grammy for Best Rock Song at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards this past Monday for their song "Don't Wanna Fight." She is the second Black woman to win this award, with the first being Tracy Chapman for her iconic hit "Give Me One Reason."

Tracy Chapman "Give Me One Reason" live at the 39th Grammy Awards (1997)
Yaaaaas! MOCHAakaMOCHA, thank you so much for sharing this. I needed to review it. Besides the actual fire upstage, this performance was so LIT! Kendrick seamlessly bobbed and weaved between at least five different musical genres.. from Rock, to Funk, to Jazz. And when the Dancehall sample came on I was just like "Boop boop boop!" This one will definitely go down in the history books.
I love Tracy Chapman on an evening at home alone w a glass of wine and candles lit in my silky pjs. Very relaxing like nothing in the world matters.
Anyways, i sometimes talk about the agency I used to work for in Ohio and how she had her agency for 40 years before she passed. Her and ... were very close friends and so even though I may have been taken outta context the past few days by some or many (who the hell knows), seeing this and having memories... I am having a sisterhood moment w u right now.
