The one and only time I let a lady tie me to a cross and lash me was when I was single...for the very reason that if I was going to experience the whip what's the point of having it done in a half-ass way? I had marks on my back for more than a week...but it was an intense experience and well worth the time. Would never...EVER do that while married. Too many chances of having those kind of marks discovered without a way of explaining them away.

I too am under the same impression that XRatred meant letting the SO know he was interested.
