This kind of thing should be kept between him and his wife not for the public.

No argument here. But...somewhere... a rule seems to be written that says...
If you embarrass your spouse publicly you need to apologize publicly. In this instance, the spouse clearly considers herself to have been publicly humiliated.

Oh yeah...that's what we need...another rule or law.
Well, at least the lawyers would be happy.

Tiger made a fortune, not just playing great golf, but playing great golf and being this all-American icon that attracted a fortune in corporate sponsorships (about $90 mil/year at the peak).
If he just wanted to go back to playing golf and keeping probably Nike as a sponsor at a diminished rate (since he wont sell as well), he could say fuck it, ignore the apologizes, do whatever the hell he wants and just go hit that little white ball again -- as someone above noted, get on with the divorce and be an absentee daddy.
This is all about "rebirth" as a corporate icon. Its the difference between earning maybe $75 million a year and $25 million. For $50 million a year for the next 10 years, I'd publicly apologize for just about anything.

Completely agree, which makes it even more cynical. Of course his wallet is going to be a bit lighter even if there was a prenup. Under the table payoffs to avoid a half dozen "kiss and tells" have probably dented the cash flow also.
Haven't checked to see how the Kobester came back on endorsements after his mess of his own making.
My sense is that golf and golf related stuff will always be there, but tough to see an Accenture like company coming back. Maybe Toyota could use a new spokesman...

Kobias has comeback better than ever & is probably is the model case for rehabilitating an image. Consider though
- at least publically he's kept his nose clean since
- he kept his family together and regularly appears with them in public
- he was relatively young when this happened and can chalk some of it up to immaturity
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY -- HE WIN's!!!
He went from "a great player" to agruably the "best player in the World" & has won a Title, MVP, etc.

You mean you used a goat for something other than mowing the golf course?

Make amends? Are you suggesting he "apologize" to Gloria Allred's client Joslyn James? IMO, Allred may be the one person in the country that came off looking worse than Tiger in this mess.

I am suggesting he was making amends to his family, friends and business associates.

He must be in a really great rehab, because he sure is working those steps quickly.
I sure won't speak for other women but with Gloria around, I find myself embarrassed to be a woman.

PJ , did you see that crap Ian Poulter had on yesterday. Tiger should have had to fuc him as atonement for both of them!
Allred set back women's rights a hundred years with that idiotic rant defending a porn actress being lied to. Damn if it wasn't for lieing none of us would ever get laid!
