Didn't read all of it. Where does "Extortion 17" come from?

Saw some Afghan/Iraq special on a cable channel some years ago. In one incident, they found some guys on a motorcycle planting an IED. The gunship wasn't allowed to kill them but followed them back to the village and lost them.

Another incident an US armored vehicle was driving to a site. Two guys on a motorcycle followed pelting them with rocks. The Americans in the armored vehicle weren't allow to kill them. They also have to move out of their way if the motorcycle guy stopped in from of them.

Hopefully, the rules of engagement have changed under President Trump to favor our servicemen.

the ROEs is the reason why we saw a reversal of the way the war was fought in afghanistan. fighting to lose is a not a winning strategy.

"Extortion one-seven" was the Chinook's radio call sign.

Prior to Pearl Harbor, the U.S. Navy command was called Commander-in-Chief U.S. Fleet ("CINCUS"-- pronounced "Sink US"). Shortly after Pearl Harbor, it changed its name to CINCPAC: Commander-in-Chief Pacific Fleet Headquarters.
