Well maybe they only want them to do some things that suppress the constitution while not ding things that flaunt our laws.
I find it interesting how the federal government wants local police to enforce some laws but not all of them.
Classic example is illegal aliens and Arizona.
The idea that the federal government can force local governments to do something without providing the funding is something that seems out of the power of the federal government. But we all know that they must do as they are told or they will have federal funds withheld from other programs.
Sounds more and more like organized criminal activity to me.
It is way past time to get control of the government. I say cut off the heads of this monster.

Amen to that, brother!

That slippery slope was anticipated by our Founders, Münchausenman.

Boy, you really WILL defend anything a liberal does, won't you? What if they come to confiscate YOUR guns?

I have been hearing ever since Clinton took office that "they" were going to come to confiscate my guns. Who in the hell is "they?" Perhaps "they" came by when I was not home but to the best of my knowledge "they" have never come a knockin.' Maybe this "take" my guns crap is some type of scheme and "they" are trying to take the guns out of the hands of the StupidOldLyingFarts, of which you are obviously one! If that is the case, I hope "they" do take your guns. You are one sick cocksucker! Special emphasis on the SICK COCKSUCKER!
Paranoia must run deep in the dark, murky and mysterious world of Jerry Fletcher and the StupidOldLyingFarts! (That sounds like the name of a Village Idiot's Band.)
You claim to like "facts!" How about this "fact." "Fact" is, I own quite a few more guns than I did when Clinton took office and I will have at least as many as I have now, when Obama leaves office in four more years! You can stick that "fact" up your fourth point of contact!
Just sayin'

You don't recognize the intent??? The assault weapons ban? The very restrictive laws in Chicago, DC, NYC, and Boston? The way the federal government (under democrats) takes these cases all the way to the Supreme Court rather than letting it go. People like Eric Holder who think that gun owners should be shamed into giving up their guns. Obama nominating the leadership of the ATF who are known second amendment haters. Are you blind to the way things are heading? or just too stupid to read the handwriting?

I have spoken with Duiguid many times on the phone. He is a few bricks shy of a full load. I still remember his column about a young black man and a young white girl traveling across the country. He was afraid that they would be attacked for eating together...this was in 2002! The man is stuck in the 50s and in the south. Every year he dresses up in an old army jacket, lets his beard grow a few days, puts on broken glasses, and goes downtown to mutter to himself. When people avoid him he always, ALWAYS chalks it up to racism.

He's probably packing when he pulls that stunt. I'm pretty sure I would.

I think it would be great for ALL county sherrifs to sponsor classes and instruction on proper and safe gun handling for all law abiding citizens.
The 2d Amendment is the Law of The Land. Sherrifs should be at the front line insuring that law abiding citizens have the fullest opportunity to exercise the freedoms that the Constitution grants us.

Right wingers are torn between our country becoming like Brazil or like the old west as in movies where everyone packed and had shootouts on the streets.

Naw, he is a complete pacifist. He is willing to die for his cause. He is also willing for others to die for his cause. I poised a question to him one time; suppose he found out as a reporter but whatever means that US personnel in Afghanistan had an electronic tracking chip installed somewhere on their body. It would allow the US to find an abductee in about 30 minutes after they start looking. Would he report the story even though the enemy would now either kill outright an American or locate and gouge out the GPS tracker. It only works if no one is aware of its existence. He told me that he would report the story. Even if military people died? Even if military people died. They shouldn't be forced to h....nope! This is completely voluntary. I would still report it because it is news and people should know.
You be the judge.

Normally I ignore stupid comments from Biggen but his comment was unusual. Why Brazil? What is about that country that you think right wingers want? As for the comment about the west, those are movies. You know, fiction? Let me put it this way Biggen...ahhhh make believe. Does that explain it to you? Movies are make believe. Guys with ponchos did not ride into town and shoot people down in a mostly fair gun fight. No the armed citizens would get together and just shoot the bad guys like in the Northfield Raid with the James boys. You know, people with guns protecting their property.

Actually, the whole "wild west" thing is more myth than actual fact.
So is the "myth" of the gunfighter. When Wyatt Earp, in the later part of his life, was hired as a consultant on some of the early Cowboy Movies, they fired him because he told them all of that gunfighting stuff was a bunch of crap. Standing out in the street and shooting at someone with a firearm was a good way to get killed.
His prefered method of dealing with those he had a difference of opinion with was walk up from behind and use his pistol as a club up side their head.
