I didn't really see it that way. To me, I saw it as less rapey and more like he was consummating the marriage in the way that he had been taught by tradition. Sort of like ingrained racial bias. Once she took control and showed him a better way to make love (in that it is a give and take thing between two willing partners), his entire demeanor towards lovemaking changed.

Since it takes Martin forever and a day to write a book, I am thincking that HBO is writing the outline for the next book and Martin will fill in all the details in the book. Which would make the process faster and easier for Martin.

George has the rest of the series already outlined and knows how it will end.
It's just that he's got a lot of projects going on and works on this when he can or is sufficiently moved to do so.
He's not only a writer, but an editor of several books a year, as well as still managing/editing his Wild Cards shared-world anthology.
But I'm just as anxious as you for the last two books.
(note: I've been left hanging on cliffs for a decade by other authors before, and for planned sequels as well.)
