I used to drive a 5-speed, but now I only have one speed, and I avoid steep inclines...

Paulina...is this prehistoric enough? The bottom one is my new car!

If yours looks like this, can I take it out for a spin? (Serously, am glad you're ok!)

I love sticks, but they can be a pain in the rear during high volume traffic. :-) You might find it challenging going up and down while trying to handle the stick and be careful cause a stick can get slippery when it's wet. Also, I understand it's kinda awkward when the stick gets stuck. Anyone ever have that happen?

Seriously, glad to know you're ok. Enjoy your new car!

Not so much if you have a "3-on-the-tree". . .LOL

.

Girlie, I knew you would be a natural with manual transmission considering the myriad of skills demonstrated whilst operating my shifter. . .

i was wondering if anyone was going to ask if it was a 3-on-a-tree or 4-on-the-four or 5-stayin'-alive or 6-pick-up-sticks!! :^) the first car i ever drove was a Toyopet 3-on-a-tree!! [practice only, not old enough for a license at that time] [toyopet was fore-runner of toyota]

seriously, paulina, i am very glad that you are physically ok. as you found out, you can always get another car. and glad that you've figured out the left foot/right foot/right hand shindig!! now onto power shifting!!

<----- Will give stick shift driving lessons for sex! When i got my first license, if an automatic was used for the road test, you were issued a restricted license, (automatic transmission only.) State of Michigan

Some guys I know have cars that you shift like a manual but it's still really an automatic. I try not to laugh when they "shift" like they really have a manual transmission. They're so cute..cute..but sad, lol!

I waited until my 30s to learn to drive a stick shift. The loss was mine.

But man does it suck in bad traffic....

Most importantly you're OK, vehicles are easier to repair/replace than people.

Standard transmissions, fun to drive......................... meh maybe.

I've had both and certainly don't intend to go standard again unless a performance sport car falls in my lap.

An albatross when it's time for another vehicle............you bet!

Count on at least $500.00 less trade value for the average car with a standard transmission as compared to the identical condition vehicle with an automatic.

More economical, slightly........with a skilled operator at the wheel, most people using them are not.

I am fine...

I decided to get another economical car (hobby car). It's a standard and I did not know how to drive standard before yesterday.
After surviving some angry fellow drivers and vicious curves, I am very proud to announce that I am standard transmission driver. Ever since I watched the "To Fast and Furious" movie, I've been wanting to learn.

I am so happy!!! I'm like a teenage kid again. You remember when you wanted to find any excuse to drive even if it meant running errands for your parents?

Again, sorry if I did not get back to you till today.

Muitos beijos,
Paulina
Hell, saw this title and thought you were talking about working...uhhh...a different kind of...stick...
