10. The Suffering - My understandings of this game is that you are a criminal in jail for a crime you did not commit. I think it was the murder of your wife and maybe child. While in prison, shit starts going down. I would compare it to Silent Hill where shit starts getting weird BUT instead of it being another world, it's the main world and everyone is seeing it. Not just you. I actually didn't finish this game... It wasn't that it was hard but I only rented it for a weekend, two days in I'm sure I made it past the middle point.
Favorite monster in the game: Hands down? Marksman.
The scariest part in the game for me: Well since I didn't finish the game, the part that made me jump the hardest was the "crawling through the vents about meet the new monster with guns in it's chest." If you watch the video in this post, at .40 seconds in, that's the monster I'm talking about. Right before you get to the end and open the vent cover a random screen pops up and a scream comes right at you. I believe I was in my early teens when this game came out, so that freaked me out hard core!
9 - Silent Hill 4 The Room - I am a massive Silent Hill fan. I love it. This Silent Hill game? Not so much. During game play I never looked up what I needed to do but for maybe one thing, I think I was lost and confused because I stopped playing for a while. Well the whole, "crawl into a hole in your bathroom" freaked me out, and I swear up and down that something was going to reach out and pull me in. Sadly that didn't happen. Never the less it is a good game, sadly I didn't get the Great ending. I got the Good ending. Which wasn't a huge disappoint until I learned why. Apparently during game play you come across the main bad guy sitting on the stairs. He offers you a doll. If you take the doll (I did) before leaving to fight the final boss, you'd have to clear all the evil stuff in your apartment and if you don't, you don't get the great ending.... ;(
Best monster in the game: The Wheelchair. That shit was creepy!
What scared me the most: This game has a few surprise corners. For one, the monsters are hella freaky. That bad two headed, two arm bitch? Yeah, fuck her. She creeps me out BUT NOT AS MUCH as the crazy bitch with long black hair! OMFG, the way she crawled around on the ground after you knocked her down. Nope. Nearly left the game right there. Being half Mexican, shit like that scared the piss outta me.
8. Doom 3 - I've seen the movie. The one staring The Rock. Yeah, not bad. Good story line, nothing too original I'm afraid... But I think they did do an okay job with the movie. Sadly I think this game got shadowed by another very popular alien monster killing game
Also I haven't played this game but I hear very good things about it.
7. Condemned Criminal Origins - Honestly, I just got finished playing with it. I kid you not, a few weeks ago I got it in the mail from Gamefly and I popped that bitch in. I was actually a little disappointed. I wasn't disappointed with the graphics. It's an older game so I was understanding of that but what killed me was that you are a detective with these AWESOME devices and you hardly use them. It wasn't something you could randomly pull out either. It had peruse, BUT for only certain parts of the game. Once you were finished with collecting the stuff, you'd just put it away and couldn't pull it back out. The story line was interesting. Catching a killer that kills other killers. You get blamed for some murders and BAM, you got yourself a game. Another disappointment, finding the bird remains, the weird steel thing-a-ma-jig.... What was the point of all that? I was told at about around half of the game that the more you find the worst the ending...
Favorite Monster: The final boss was pretty cool. The other monsters were either human, or some weird drugged up mutate monster.
What scared me the most: The thing that made me jump the hardest? You really want to know? Oh gods, this is going to sound terrible. The thing that made me jump the hardest, was not knowing the enemy was there until it was attacking me. I'd be standing there looking around all alone and BAM bitch on top of me, beating my brains out! I think at one point I screeched because there I was alone in the dark with my character, playing in the dark around 2-3am and it was quiet. Then suddenly I get attacked, damn near shit myself.
6. Resident Evil - If I had to pick, Resident Evil or Silent Hill. I'd go for Resident Evil. Resident Evil wasn't by any means original with the whole ZOMBIES thing, but story line was nice and game play for a 2 bit wasn't horrible. It had killing, zombies creatures, and my personal favorite PUZZLES! This wasn't just another run around killing game. Now I find some games a little annoying with the whole
"dungeons" game play. What "dungeons" game play means, remember the old school games where there was a dungeon, you'd escape the dungeon to go to another dungeon ect... Same thing over and over again. Boring. Resident Evil and Silent Hill shared this. Resident Evil games have massively improved since the first. Silent Hill.. Not so much...
Favorite Monster in the game: The Licker.
Scariest part in the game: That is a good question. I believe the part that got my heart racing the most was the "OH NO THE CEILING IS COMING DOWN!!!" What do I do!? I was turned into a Jill Sandwich nearly three times before I realized what I needed to do!
5. Eternal Darkness - Idk, I didn't play this one.
4. Condemned 2 Bloodshot - Apparently I was confusing this one for the first one. So that mains the first one was even cooler then I originally thought!
3. Silent Hill - I think I've talked your ear off with what I've thought about Silent Hill lol
2 & 1 - Fatal Frame 2 & Fear - I have not played but I seriously want too!
