YOu can create any set of criteria you want to make the best look the worst and the worst to look the best.

Sorry to hear that you went through all of that with Cancer. However it sounds like you had access to some really good level of care which most Americans do not. If you have good insurance or even money you can get the very best in care.
By the way, I was watching ABC 13 news the other night and they were talking about a national rating system for hospitals (some do not participate in it), and that the rating system was based on error of hospitals and their affiliated facilities. Errors meaning, messing up in the operating room during a procedure, nurses giving patients the wrong medication etc. I believe Texas was right up there with some of the worst rated.

Which most are you referring to? As I understand it Obamacare is going to add what 20 million to the ranks of the insured. If our population is 400 million, that's a long, long way away from being most.
I think we should deincentivise (sp) emigrating to the US. If you are not here legally and paying taxes, no bennies period. If you a minor that has citizenship via the 14th Amendment (Which I disagree with.), and neither of your parents are here legally, then no bennies until a legal guardian that is here legally applies for them for you.
I would be interested to know just what the benchmarks were for ranking Texas dead last in the United States for health care, who administered the study and who paid for the study.

Don't be delusional; you are fighting to get this illegal a piece of the pie (call it cash, or free services). A piece that would likely go to another worthy, but legal citizen. So, again, you prove Joe Blow's point that illegals take valuable needed services (and cash) that should go to citizens.

Based on my observations, these are my expectations from Romney - considering he's the GOP's choice to take America back:
- End all entitlement programs (I mean all - $0 for any benefits to anyone)
- Kick out all illegal immigrants
- Reduce unemployment rate to 5% or below
- Eliminate the deficits
- Reduce our debt at least back to pre-Obama levels
- Force China to let stop manipulating their currency
- Free Iran and North Korea (why not Venezuela as well) from their dictators
- Let all the oil companies drill anywhere and anytime with no regulations
- Eliminate all Federal Agencies except the military
- Eliminate the IRS and replaces the tax code with a simple tax structure
- Eliminate Medicare and Social Security
- Eliminate all Federal regulations
- Kick out the UN from the US and stop funding the UN
- Force Russia and China to do whatever Washington tells them
- Build a 50' tall wall across the southern border and places checkpoints every 50 feet with armed guards ordered to shoot anyone who touches the wall
- Pass a Federal Voter ID law to prevent voter fraud
- Shut down the Citizenship and Immigration Services office so that effectively no one is allowed to immigrate to the US
- Implement a 200% tariff on all imports
- Revoke all permanent resident cards and naturalized citizenships granted during the last 40 years and ship everyone out to their home country
Just sayin' that's what I can summarize is expected from him, and if he doesn't perform, a lot of his voters will be disappointed.

WW - I was being sarcastic. The global interests are bigger than the President of the US. Nothing will get done, just like nothing has been done in the last 30 years.

I don't know, I caught the news ABC 13 local news when it was giving all their data and talking about it. I am sure you can look it up on their new site. It would be interesting to know the facts behind the study as well and who conducted it or how they apply it to all the hospitals etc.

Any place in line he gets is not going to be taken from anyone who doesn't have cash. Allocating medical services based on who has money, rather than need (as it's done in every other democracy in the entire world) is just nuts. Health care, like clean air or good roads, is a public good.

You need to see the movie A Day Without A Mexican.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377744/combined
This country couldn't make it from day break until the lunch hour without illegal immigrants. We'd fucking starve to death.

So how is the air, and how are the roads in those countries that are so much more fair than ours, TTH? And again, what is your cut of the take?

Your client shouldn't be allowed to sue anyone. He's an illegal alien; he shoud be arrested and deported. Americans are chumps to let people come here illegally, and give them welfare, education, etc.
The really insane thing we do for illegals is making their children citizens, because they're born on American soil. There's no way the fourteenth amendement was intended to be used like that. I hope someday, we get a conservative court that will rule against this stupid anchor baby policy. The Constitution is not a suicide pact.

Healthcare isn't like air. Air is free. Healthcare dollars is a finite amount. Money you put in illegal Jose's pocket, is money that doesn't get to American citizen Joe.
Illegal Jose gets his back fixed (thank you American taxpayer), but US Citizen Joe can't get his hip fixed because the money was spent on an illegal.
And TTH thinks he is doing he right thing by gaming the healthcare system in favor of his client Jose to the detriment of Citizen Joe.
