Complete and total bullshit. You don't need to start talking about "Socialism" in order to make our tax system more balanced, and you certainly don't need to start screaming Marxism everytime someone wants to implement regulation to help prevent the next Wall Street perpetrated economic melt-down.
Now go take a break there Glenn, you're out of chalk.

LOL, I love it when facts are pointed out showing that many of the "occupy" crowd are regurgitating old Marxist ideas, it leads posters like F-Sharp, who usually backs his points up with some sort of chart or data, to come up with such a well thought out response as "complete and total bullshit", without being able to refute the argument made by "aroundaustin".

So let's see if I got this straight. You're basically telling us that you fully support income inequality.
So what YOU are saying is that you support "income equality"? Pray tell how we are supposed to achieve this Nirvana? Here's the way it works in our country. If you're not happy with your job, how much it pays, the benefits it provides etc...you are free to change jobs. You are free to go back to school and get a degree. You are free to go to ITT Tech or any number of the hundreds of trade schools that are out there to pursue a skill set that WILL pay you more. Hundreds of thousands do so every year in our Country.
You acknowledge and support that this inequality has grown 150% in the last 30 years, along with a 350% increase in CEO to worker salaries, while the average worker's salary has remained almost completely flat. You are also saying that you are okay with the lack of opportunity for the bottom 55% in this country, knowing full well that a college education for their children is out of reach along with a comfortable retirement.
A college education is out of reach?? Hmm, funny, my father was/is a blue collar worker making a very average salary. My mother put herself through college on his salary and with the myriad of grants offered by the government, university and some student loans. Got a 4 year degree, paid off the loans and made more money than she had before in her life.
I know that's a complex idea and people like you would LOVE for other people to believe that it can't be done by the average worker. No, it's much easier to convince them to camp out for weeks on end, NOT work and bemoan the evil Corporations of the World.
You are also perfectly comfortable that healthcare in this country is (as yet to be determined) out of reach for 16% of the population. Essentially, it's your assumption that this bottom 55% is just lazy and stupid.
Once again, don't have a job that provides healthcare? Get one that does if you don't want to have a health savings account and pay as you go. There's options, that's what makes our Country great. Pursuing those options just takes a little bit of self-motivation and determination.
Does that pretty much sum it up?
Do me a favor and give this a read and share your thoughts about it.

Ahh yes, that was certainly some fact based reading.

Is it being reported in the media that OWS people are upset that the homeless are showing up for free food or is that something you thought up all by yourself? You do realize that most of the OWS people are anti-Obama, right?

Well according to one of the most liberal rags out there...the Huffington Post, it appears Wyldeman didn't "make it up". It's also being reported in other media outlets.

Can you point out which part of this thread was intended to be humorous? Was it to OP? I'm having a hard time following your humor.

Well the OWS crowd usually laments how big Corporations are making too much profit and oppressing the common worker. They talk about how their profits are obscene while not giving back.
Soooo, they prove they really mean this by getting upset that they're having to spend some of the hundreds of thousands of dollars that are donated to them on feeding some of the homeless that are showing up. See the irony?!

This liberal is busy working today. Sorry I don't have time to go downtown and feed the homeless. One thing you won't hear me doing is complaining about my taxes (although I will take time to note that a bunch of American troops died for nothing in Afghanistan last week).

I'll agree with you on the troop issue if you're talking about the ones that got killed in Kabul. My agreement stems not from the fact that they died in Afghanistan but rather because the tactics and rules of engagement have become so restrictive that it's putting more and more soldiers lives at risk. There is no reason why a convoy should be traveling down any road in a war zone and NOT be allowed to maintain a security bubble/standoff around their convoy. That has nothing to do with the overall effort in Afghanistan but rather piss poor leadership and political meddling.

Can you point out where I was "emotional" in this thread or where the "hate shit slinging" is? I'm not seeing it. I'm not trying to be difficult but had you not included "TFF" in the subject line I wouldn't have realized it was supposed to be a joke.
