I've never seen a bonafide provider, just amps of the sort, but I've always wondered what the protocol was. I wouldn't want to freak the provider out, but yet be prepared if shit goes south.

So, you were unsure of the condition of your carry handgun. But you had the presence of mind to cycle the action to "put a round" in?

(if you normally have a round in the chamber, you typically will have not trained to chamber check much less do anything else which comes with Israeli style carry on your drawstroke)

So, you thought enough in the stress of an armed encounter to stealthily pull a chamber check such that you had to/should subsequently cycled in a round? You then closed ("put it in the pimps face") distance on a known armed subject.

(you either disregarded your typical muscle memory under duress or you are being obtuse about how you carry. You then, in leiu of seeking cover or concealment or taking the decision to employ force on an armed threat presumably inside of 7 yards, closed distance on the threat. Which school/methodology of armed defense are you certified to teach, again?)

You then committed a couple of felonies (the armed robbery and wire fraud with his ATM card coming to mind).

It's just a hooker board and everything, but you should try to do better than this. Really. People that have even a modicum of understanding about this kind of thing just go their chuckle for the day.

Locked in the car. I don't walk into an appointment with anything but the donation, hobby phone, keys. Ever. By definition, I'm going to have to have the firearm off-body during the festivities and that's not a prudent risk in my mind. But I also am more selective than blumax about where I'll hobby.

As an aside--if you carry, you ought to have a safe in the car somewhere or somewhere you are comfortable securing the firearm anyway. Can't speak for all, but hobbying isn't the only place I go where I choose not to carry and have to store the firearm in the car.

So many where do I begin? Not too many redemptions other than learning from experience. Probably the most let down I've been was after going away for a bit of time I came out, got a decent job and first paycheck. I immediately wanted to blow it. Set up in the red roof with the 24hr porn pass I called some Latin ho from the city paper 07? We both got comfortable and she gets a call. Oh I have to lend my friend some loot I'll even leave my purse I'll be right back. She ran out the door without her shoes and beat me.I was pissed but what was I to do? I was intent on celebrating my freedom that night so I called another provider...it was the service that brings hot girls to your door with a dude and he sits fucking outside ur room while you watch some girl pretend to masturbate on the opposite side of the bed with absolutely no contact. Ya I fell for it but never again. Now they left and I wasted more money and they put a hold on my account for 1000$. I left that hotel in the am broke as fuck.
Another embarrassing adventure shortly after this came on the north side when I was robbed by a dude and a transvestite in a abandoned house. Many more horror stories can be told mostly because of my inebriation during such events. So the redemption part is being more careful and slowing waaaay down and settling down a bit and definitely no outcall or hotels. I like the pile of clothes idea ..I have everything in the garbage so it looks like garbage.

Tannana,

You bring up a good point - there are many people who have no idea about carrying, who will be reading this thread.

It's a shame that they might start to think some of the stuff posted here is real. On the other hand - unless they are interested in getting some training on their own, I guess it doesn't really matter anyways.

That aside - I think we are agreed on the merits of that particular story.

I have worked in the ghetto for over 20 years, i have seen almost everything and been through alot. There has never been a situation that i couldn't fight my way out of. Now i am getting older and less patient and have been thinking of getting a gun. Without any training i think it would be a terrible mistake to take it into an appointment, one of the first places that is getting searched if you are distracted is your clothes pile.

A nightmare scenario for anyone who carries (civilian or LEO) is being ballistically perforated with one's own firearm. The odds of that happening go significantly up when said firearm is not on your person. There is an art and science to weapon retention and situational awareness when you are carrying the damn thing properly in a good holster. In a heap of your shit across the room? No bueno.

Hobby with the minimum you need for the purpose. Donation, phone, keys. I'm one phone call away (and the cops are one phone call after that) from locating my car if it's jacked. Carry (and even the keys and phone if I want to/can) is locked in the car during an appointment. Most anyone is getting is the donation which I'd planned to part with anyway.

As an aside: if you are getting "less patient" you probably want to rethink getting a firearm. You want training/muscle memory and as clear a head as possible while armed. Guns, particularly in civilian hands, are not meant to deconflict things. They are to end a threat to your person, period.

Heres the big issue with carrying a gun while hobbying. If you shoot or shoot and kill someone it isnt considered self defense because you are committing a crime. They usually nail you for voluntary manslaughter or felony murder. Back in the 1990's someone I knew sold weed. Basically he was lower level so never had a ton of money. Long story short someone came intoo his house to rob him, he puled his gun and shot and killed the person. It took about a day before police figured out it was a drug/money robbery attempt. He was found guilty and just was released after spending like 13 or 14 years in jail. I think he was sentenced to 20 but got early release.

To me id rather lose $100 than 15 years of my life

Not really a hobby related cash and dash but my adventure. I go to visit a friend who lives in Kona on the big island and stay in Waikiki for the weekend before going over to see him. I meet a slutty looking girl in a bar and after a few drinks I tell her I am looking for weed. She takes me to buy some and I get two bottles of wine and back to my room. Wake up the next morning, down to front desk to get money then back to room. She stole about $100 and my bag of weed. But she left me with a nice bud. Two months later I am in Vegas for a wedding, up three grand. At first woman did not wish to share a bottle of champagne in my room until my cousin asked me how much I was up. I am a Polack but not a total idiot. She tried very very hard to get me to close my eyes, no way. I know better than to let a stranger spend the night so Hawaii was my most expensive blowjob (counting weed, money in pocket and what I spent about $500) and Vegas the most satisfying.
