Actually, we are BOTH clueless as to the scope of the investigation. Because the FBI keeps its investigations secret.
The difference is, I'm aware of that and I am careful not to re-post phony stuff from crackpot websites.

Wow. "May or may not be real". That is some standard of proof you have for evidence. I'm glad you're not a judge.
Here is a suggestion: Why don't we wait for the competent authorities to release their official findings and THEN decide whether or not Menendez is participating in sex parties. Right now, I haven't seen any reliable media source release or report any reliable documentation - just allegations, rumors and innuendos. And, in your case, really shoddy allegations.

Here is an even MORE novel idea. Why don't you show some awareness of the 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination? He CAN'T be put under oath in a judicial proceeding.

Let me see if I've got this straight. The fact that the mainstream media is ignoring, rather than debunking, this stupid "hooker testimony" is somehow proof that the underage sex charge is true?
How about this: The news business doesn't have the time or the resources to debunk every crappy post on the Internet? That seems a whole lot more likely and logical.
The underage sex charge will stand or fall on its own merits based on the FBI investigation - which is currently secret.

So, you're admitting I debunked it in only a few minutes?
If so, then the MSM did too. In which case they made the wise choice of ignoring it. It is not the business of the news services to repeat every fake allegation posted by fringe crackpots. In fact, I think that have a duty NOT to report obviously fake allegations. News reporting should be about a search for the truth - not passing on lies.

He could volunteer himself to provide sworn testimony; He is not obligated to hide behind the 5th Amendment. Most do when they are guilty. And as an elected official he has a higher obligation to clear his name than the ordinary Citizen Joe.
His sex trips to the DR have been well accounted; he likely had sex with the underage escort.

It Ain't a Crime, is it?
Maybe I'm missing something. Is it a federal crime for any person living in the United States to have sex of any type in the Dominican Republic? How about Mexico? How about Canada? How about Australia, or New Zealand? Does it violate the laws of New Jersey, or Texas, or even Alaska. Who is going to prosecute this crime since no one has jurisdiction except for the authorities in DR?
It may be morally wrong and may display bad judgment, but how is it a federal or state crime for any American, or foreign national living in the United States, not on official business or using official funds, to have sex, do drugs, gamble illegally or do anything that violates Dominican law.
You guys are such miserable haters that you look foolish in your race to blame and disparage. Or more likely, you don't care about the truth, you just want to destroy.

You'd like to think so. However, things do get leaked, for various reasons.
In this particular case, I'd be tempted to speculate that someone higher up decreed that this case would be buried, and someone lower down disagreed very strongly with that decree.

Actually, I believe there is some kind of federal law that prohibits US citizens from traveling outside the US for the purpose of having sex with minors. but don't quote me on that. I think the law was used to crack down on pervs who took sex tours in Thailand and other Asian countries to have sex with minors.
However, it may only apply if one PURPOSE of the trip was underage sex. in other words, it has to be planned in advance.
If Menendez or any other US citizen was in another country on business and he got laid while he was there and the girl tuned out to be a minor, then the law may not apply.
But, don't quote me on all that.
I'm just saying it is a bad idea to get laid overseas without checking IDs.

ABC News, who was provided the documents has not disavowed the documents or the allegations contained in the documents......makes you wonder why not, if ExNYer spotted them as being "suspect" ....
Menendez should answer questions under oath........his refusal to answer the questions are an indication of possible illegal behavior on his part.

I've a novel idea ...
... "because" your first statement is incorrect as an across the board principle.
Let the information be posted "for what its worth" and as the story leaks continue more facts will be disclosed for those in the media who care if a U.S. Senator has sex with children to determine whether or not a story about a U.S. senator having sex with children is worthy of coverage in the news.

Well if Whirly got it off a blog, then Menedez must be guilty until proven innocent. This is SOP for the right, someone makes something bad up about a Dem, posts it on a Blog and hopes it will catch fire. Must of the right blogosphere picks it up and parrots it, and then when there is enough noise in the echo chamber Fox will usually pick it up without checking any real facts other than a bunch of self referencing sites. There is some similar activity on the left, but since the left tends to pride itself on being a "fact based community" this type of shit often gets very little traction.
It could be true, it probably isn't, but until he is charged and convicted I thought we were all "innocent until proven guilty" or is that only Republicans and Libertarians? Dems are apparently guilty without evidence and until proven innocent, right?

This "stuff" is not Republican or Democrat ... it wasn't long ago that a U.S. Rep was "fried" by the media ... "Chung".... over the death of a "intern" ... when the police were daily saying he was not a suspect .... and the press hounded his ass ... unmercifully.
He resigned/was defeated.... they ran him out of office. The killer was identified later.
Not even a back page ... "We are sorry"!
And it was NOT FOX NEWS!
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/s...aying-18311786
Here is what I mean:
"Condit was grilled by investigators as a potential suspect but eventually ruled out."
That is a statement in the most recent posted article: January 25, 2013. AP.

I'm pretty sure that Norwegian and/or Swedish law makes it illegal for those citizens to have under age sex abroad. Not sure how widespread that is for other countries. Nor do i know what 'under age' means.
