Negotiating strategy...pure and simple. 800 is ludicrous. If Drayton wants to exit and if his children [as inferred from press conference] have no interest in running a franchise, price will come back to earth.

Just hope the 'Stros stay in H-town and that Drayton doesn't pull a Bud Adams. In reality, I don't think it likely that the Astros will move. Drayton is a Texan and has always meant well. He and John McMullen are breeds apart

Anyone who listened to the press conference can tell he is a good guy. Certainly not a baseball guy, but a good guy nonetheless.

Increasing the SW TV market with basketball and baseball might be interesting to Cuban. Hence the negotiating tactic.
