Stay your ass home. They arent violating any laws like you are with your P4P.
This site is based on P4P, if you don't like it, stay your ass away from this site. Even though I'm on hiatus, I'm not judgemental against the men or ladies here.
Damn it, here I go again wasting time on someone that's been banned........how many times? One who has proved on many occasions they can't obey the simple rules that have been set down.
It is what it is, since what you are doing is eating a cow that was killed. The Vikings probably has the best time, with their drunken 4 day festivals back in Norway after returning from a raid. Watch the movie The Vikings with Kirk Douglas.....even axe throwing at the dinner.
Some times you do want to create an ambiance, even at home......why else are there the regular plates and the fine china ?
The higher end steak houses have also been the traditional place to conclude business deals, and bring your out of town business visitors. So they are trying to attract that customer base.
If Michael Jordan went to a steak house, I believe he would be dressed to kill. Others like Lebron James, probably not.
Other events such as weddings, funerals.....dressing decent is a sign of respect. It doesn't have to be a dress code, but an unwritten rule......such as in baseball.

Guys like MJ, Michael Irvin, Ray Lewis, etc. all have a public image to project, while the ordinary guy like myself doesn't need to project any sort of image.
So those guys will all be dressed up when they feel it's appropriate. Me, I'll also dress up in a suit when appropriate, however it will be stuff like wedding, funeral, etc.
The best steakhouse I eat at now is Saltgrass. I've eaten at Pappas, Ruth Chris, Morton's, Taste of Texas, Perry's and others here in town, usually on the company's dime.
I usually don't like paying for atmosphere and would rather have it in the food. I don't drink wine much much less pay $100 a bottle for it. I'm at the age now if I eat a 12 Oz filet with full baker and asparagus with hollandaise sauce and a piece of cheesecake I'm out. Lastly, I don't mind paying $50 for a steak but I'm cheap.

What happened to Texas Land and Cattle ? That was a good, reasonably priced chain, nice atmosphere.
Poof......gone.
My best experience was driving through Nebraska, and stop overnight at Valentine, Nebraska. Go to the local steak house. Hat rack is full of about 30 rancher hats, identical. After that meal, was sorry to head on down the road the next day.
I'm all for the dress code. What I laugh about is when I'm out and I see a nicely dressed woman with some dipshit wearing his good jeans, his best jersey, and his dressy high tops. I feel bad for her.
