Trump wanted to investigate the Biden's corruption. That is a legitimate request.

He had the authority to withhold funds.

Biden tried to stop a criminal investigation of his son using the power of the US government. That is illegal interference in a prosecution.

Look my Mexican friend who is no friend of the workers whose labors you exploit - it is a legitimate function of the duly elected President of the United States to determine if an aid recipient such as Ukraine is using the funds provided in an authorized fashion and not paying or previously paying the son of the Vice President of the United States $50,000 a month to buy his father's influence.
