Her vacations are symptomaitic of her elitist views; and her lavish trips are at our expense, during a time of extreme financial hardships....it would be nice to see a first lady be frugal, no extravagant.

Like I said before; Michelle is reading the Team Obama internal polling numbers and she know her days in the White House and taxpayer junkets is coming to an end.

I actually believe that the First Family are entitled to travel, dress, dine, educate their children in any fashion that is congruent with their social and economic class. The Obamas are multimillionaires, thus I don't see any problem with them taking a nice ski trip. Is this trip over the top of what they could afford? I don't know. I thought the Spain trip with the Insane Clown Posse in tow was a bit much.

I have no issues with vacations, working vacations or otherwise.
I dont hate Moochelle Obama or her idiot husband.
What I find interesting is the duplicitous nature of the first family when Obama speaks of not drivng your SUVs or setting your thermostat on 72 is acceptable behavior yet jetting all over the world on the taxpayer dime is. The do as I say not as I do does not wash with me.
On the other hand, I don't think that Obama has criticized government spending so why should his wife be concerned.

If that is then what do you have to say about Laura Bush. During two of the worst market crashes to hit the US since the Great Depression she was going on lavish trips with her two daughter and spending way more than the Obamas.

So what I gather is that because a previous first lady did it, there is an entitlement for all subsequent first ladies to ignore the fact that every dime spent for their vacations is borrowed.

Same thing for ALL of them! Goods times and bad. I have said this since way before the Bushs. Believe me, no one hates the Bushes more than me.

I say 2 weeks vacation - taxpayers foot SS protection and travel, they foot all the rest. Any more than 2 weeks, they pay full freight. Don't like the deal? Then don't run for office. Of course the prez is really never off the clock, so it harder to dial in the policy - but these family folks have got to be reigned in.

I'd like to see this government overthrown, and we get to true representative government. The prez salary us the average US salary. Senator salary is average for that state. Representatives salary is same as their district. Set up dorms for conressmen. All have a 401K, no defined benefit pension, no congressional barber shop, etc...

My state the average income is about 40K. But our senators are paid 5x that? Plus benefits that are unattainable for 99% of the population. And then we complain they are "out of touch." Whadda ya expect?
